Dollars committed means commitment in some form.. if you are paying monthly you really want to be involved which are the types of people they need at this point. It is not the worst idea to keep out the majority of main-stream MMO players for which their idea is NOT targeted.
I still think they need a solid go to market and I have not seen it...
@Brad if you still lurk, take a look at shadowrun and what they did. They released an RPG with their mechanics and then are going for Shadowrun online. Maybe 2 steps gets you there rather than 1 and the first step is a game people could get behind not just an alpha that would be shopped for more MMO funding dollars which in this market will likely lead to the mainstream ideas those with the dollars are paying for.

I think what they're really asking for is an official stance from the dev team saying that it's a-okay to make a public nuisance, or at least a spectacle, of their gender and sexuality. I really don't like the way the OP hid the transgender question behind a facade of "adult themes" in general. (Unless he's trolling; in that case, nicely done.) It's one thing to be able to cyber your harem of Ogre manginas in private, but some people prefer Second Life's permissive and nature.
Ugh, I started typing up a serious opinion about this, but I just can't believe that OP isn't trolling.

Yea it sounds ok to me - it could shit the bed or be great, depends on whether they deliver a quality experience or not. That is independent from your question, which really is "do they have the resources to actually make that?" - the answer to your question is obviously no, because their resources are good for maybe 3 months of work. And before we even get to your question there is the 'does their team have the skills to make a working MMO' which is probably also a No.
If you just focus on the question, which experience would be desirable, I dont see a big issue with making a quest game that has alot of group content which you then market to a grouping-interested audience. Obviously not a carbon copy of WoW because that's solo focused. Simples changes like quest shit drops for everyone and quests are sharable out of order, and to the xp ratio of quests vs kills would remove most of the issues, and that's applying 2004 logic for Vanilla WoW. Someone considering these issues in 2014-17 should create much better solutions - which is brings us back to 'has the team the competence and the money?'. Nope, so we're only theorycrafting.

He says that despite there only being 3k backers on the KS, it shows many more would subscribe to this game once it's out and he wants to build community with everyone that would be interested in this, yet limits that community to only people that are willing to donate to his game. Then throws out the 'we don't have manpower to moderate forums' excuse. I just don't get his argument, he acknowledges there is a bigger crowd that would play this game, but chooses to shut that crowd out on any feedback they may give. Just say you're in desperate need of money since you obviously are at the bottom floor of development. In fact you're probably not even in development.
Hey, boob-slider for women previously in *how many* games? A codpiece slider is certainly fair in that sense. It should also max out at "elephantitis."

In my OPINION, that describes most of the posters in this thread (and the original Pantheon thread). I wouldn't say I'm a hater, but I definitely went from swallowing Brad's frank n' beans to being a skeptic. I still WANT this game. I WANT them to succeed, but I am skeptical of... a lot of things surrounding this project at this point. But...I want to believe and I keep waiting for them to convince me. I guess that's not their job, though... Oh...wait...Hm...
With that being said, I just saw Todd McFarlane tweet this (pretty sure he did this "pro bono") and again, every artist I know is constantly doodling and sketching. Where are the freaking Pantheon sketches!!
