Well since you're answering questions: First person view or third person as the 'preferred' or 'the game was designed with this view in mind'. Your radar (bleh) somewhat means not needing a permanent 3rd person view.
I'd like to see the game support 1st and 3rd person. I usually explore and travel in 1st person, but then go to 3rd when I enter combat so I can see what's going on around me.

Couple of things:

Instancing will be used in dungeons to tell a story, where linear content makes sense.

The majority of zones, both overland and dungeon, will not be instanced.

A lot of the more interesting systems are described in the PC Gamer article. There will be another PC Gamer article soon that has even more detail. Later, we will move a lot of the exclusive info that PC Gamer has onto the KS site.
Glad your being upfront about that. While I'm another person who thinks that instancing hinders community development, I also had lots of fun in LDON. So I do see how it can have its place. So long as its a very limited place. Not a fan at all of raid mobs being instanced. Lets see how it turns out.

If we are talking about stuff we dislike, the lore has already lost me. It's not really a world, its a collection of "fallen" planes where god-kings roam looking for adherents: Terminus. Seriously? I would have much preferred a D&D campaign style backstory for this. You need to hit people in the nostalgia feels: This seems far outside of that, although the net may be the same.

I am still in, at either $100-150. I went in at $150 but there isn't much that extra 50 gets me other than hitting my CE version limit.

There is so much in the KS that doesn't look great.

-The tiers needs badly to be optimized.
-Why oh why would you put a screenshot first with so much brown? The Pre-Alpha screenies definitely looks that way.
-Jonah Hill was the best at reading his cue cards in the video. They needed way more takes, although I think some team guys came across OK. Love that hammer.

-"Planar High Fantasy" is repeated so much I am warming up the meme machine now.
-Salim gets close enough to Rift's version of "Souls" in the video that Scott is looking for a previously filed trademark application right now.

The classes shouldn't be stretch goals but instead $10-25 bolt-ons, along with the races, mounts, etc. No one thinks that the game is going to get made without halflings and rangers. You need stuff that can be acquired in-game but you can have now if ONLY YOU CAN HELP PANTHEON GET MADE.

I have to admit, despite loving many things people in this thread hate, I was disappointed to the see the radar mini-map. I was hoping for something more refined and less GPS-detailed.

The above is offered with 100% love and wanting to see this succeed.

You're reaching on all your points man.
My main problem is that they created a Kickstarter compaign with the most generic answers possible, expecting people to fund their game.

"It's different and deeper and funner, trust us!"

Try re-watching the released information and think of any other MMO released within the past 5 years. Lore aside, they could be any other game.

These are the unique elements I saw:
"Get spells/abilities from killing bosses"
"We have a target audience"
"A mindset that Designed Downtime should be a part of the game to ensure players have time to form important social bonds."
"An expectation that the path of least resistance should also be the most entertaining"

I would like to contribute to this Kickstarter, but I'm failing to see a reason yet.

I'm obviously thrilled that it's finally up.

Brad, if you can, what are your thoughts on:

Racial starting area's, whether will be in the same area or each get their own cities
Trivial Loot Code
Twinking/alts
Character "specing" (More like Diablo or more like VG and EQ with limited ability to gimp your char)

It's pretty serious but we're still working on it and so that's why we haven't said anything.
Brad you need to be crystal clear about this stuff. Your quote at 2:48 states, 'we're not looking at corpse runs, or big penalties, or punishing you'. If you don't mean that, take that video down and edit out that part.

Your quote in the video and what you just said here do not match.

I'm not a huge lore guy but yeah the collection of fallen planes colliding together in an earthquake doesn't really grab me. Personally I'd prefer my MMOs start out pretty grounded with a few blips of irregularity tucked away. If crazy shit is happening all the time I'm afraid my fairly normal leveling and gearing process will be overshadowed by all the bigger stuff going around me.

Brad, I'd like some clarification on the difference between the open dungeons and instanced ones. I mean, why would people go for contested named mobs when they can just enter an instance? This makes the loot situation potentially very idiosyncratic where loot from instances are in abundance while contested gear is more rare. I thought VG had a pretty good system in most dungeons, some named were spawnable and locked to your group... while others were contested. This made it so you always accomplished something while having just enough competition to make it interesting.

I'm open to having instances but you guys really need to make a compelling argument to why.

$45 for Alpha, Beta, and one month of game access? That is a better deal than any MMO I've ever played. Purchased.

More importantly than anything you've listed is that monks won't be in at release, I'm still funding it because it is the closest thing to old school out there, I liked both of Brad's prior MMOs and if pantheon gets funded it is likelier that more old school mmos may crop up on kickstarter.
