Looking into that.Brad you need to be crystal clear about this stuff. Your quote at 2:48 states, 'we're not looking at corpse runs, or big penalties, or punishing you'. If you don't mean that, take that video down and edit out that part.
Your quote in the video and what you just said here do not match.
CorrectAh it doesnt actually bill you until the close date of the kickstarter?
Right. And if they don't reach the goal, it doesn't charge you at all.Ah it doesnt actually bill you until the close date of the kickstarter?
It really allows us to tell a linear story for a special quest, have a scripted event at the end (I thought it was pretty cool recently in EQ 1 where Luclin walks to her throne, sits down, and has a monolog). I wouldn't worry about the item rewards, the vast majority of good items will come from open world areas.Brad, I'd like some clarification on the difference between the open dungeons and instanced ones. I mean, why would people go for contested named mobs when they can just enter an instance? This makes the loot situation potentially very idiosyncratic where loot from instances are in abundance while contested gear is more rare. I thought VG had a pretty good system in most dungeons, some named were spawnable and locked to your group... while others were contested. This made it so you always accomplished something while having just enough competition to make it interesting.
I'm open to having instances but you guys really need to make a compelling argument to why.
I do wonder at times. EQ 1 was developed for $8m in three years by a team of around 20 (it fluctuated a bit). Vanguard was near $30M and a lot of that was because of the seamless world and how long it took us to code that stuff.I just want to see what a sub 10 million dollar MMO looks like. All these companies that build MMOs that are 50m+ and I want to see how close this can come to providing as close to a complete experience as it can with such a limited budget compared to its predecessors.
If it does it, then you have to wonder where all the money goes in these other games.
No, but we are extremely appreciativeAre you really surprised?
I really like the lore so far but it can easily got o shit fast depending on what they do. Planescape was my favorite DnD campaign setting though (Dark Sun and Spelljammer I liked as well). So far Terminus almost reminds me of Sigil with no Lady of Pain to keep everyone in line. I mean I am really digging the lore so far. It's different. Not another goddamn generic Forgotten realms campaign like world which suddenly has an ancient evil reawaken and the call for heroes has gone out blah blah blah. My biggest concern is if they are throwing gods around like rag dolls why should I as the character give a crap about them? This seems like a major plot issue right off to me.Tuco_sl said:I'm not a huge lore guy but yeah the collection of fallen planes colliding together in an earthquake doesn't really grab me.
Nope. It's all billed at once to whatever payment system you elected when the KS successfully reaches its goal at the end of the funding period. If you pledge $150 today through Amazon, in 39 days Amazon will charge your payment source that full amount.Ah it doesnt actually bill you until the close date of the kickstarter?
I thought POP was fucking brilliant. Best expansion since Velious.I really like the lore so far but it can easily got o shit fast depending on what they do. So take $1000 and bet 4 team parlay : Broncos, Seattle, Under, Over = win and you can pledge 10k level.Nope. I assume that once they start to get close to the goal, Brad and Co. will be setting up direct funding options so that they can avoid having KS/Amazon take their bite as well as keeping funds rolling in.
You say that like it's better /sighThat GPS things looks to be more of a way to see what NPCs are in your general vacinity, doesnt appear to be a map, more like a radar.
Like you just said, I don't mind using instance to tell stories. But I think a lot of us here are happy to see the best/unique items/encounters are from open world. It really allows us to tell a linear story for a special quest, have a scripted event at the end (I thought it was pretty cool recently in EQ 1 where Luclin walks to her throne, sits down, and has a monolog). Imperative to hit crafting goal so they can give crafting to silius and we can avoid another slappy. With Silius on the team, itemization will be great np np. Just look at DoV for EQ2
