I can't imagine the age gap being that huge. I'm not rocking a cane yet, but I'll be 30 in a couple of months. I think the difference is something I've mentioned in the past: I play the shit out of all games and don't focus on an MMO until it gets my interest. I can bail out on this industry for years if necessary.
I've actually used it and a few other sites like it a lot. In fact my Petzval lens just showed up yesterday. Only one project didn't fund so far out of more than a dozen on KS alone. Been pretty happy in general but I've never been burned either.
The games I've received have been good so far, but one of the ones (SpaceVenture) I still have coming is pretty much lining up to be a shitfest -- pretty confident in that based on updates.
The games may be a bit more a gamble overall (how weird is that) than some other products. My other larger backing was Star Citizen and I was already all in on that one before they even put the Kick Starter up. That Deliverance looks amazing. I was really close to going on Shadowrun and Wasteland but my gut told me to hold off. I think now that was probably a decent choice but I didn't pick them up, friends have just bashed them.
We both brought it up. Hopefully it's gone by tomorrow. It looks so bad! If they can just get a few more areas built for pics to post, it would go a long ass way!
