I still want to know what their art guy does all day. Does it take 16 hours to make each race icon
Was honestly wondering that, too. I know some of the team is still freelancing to pay the bills, but James Rochelle is completely silent in every regard and outside of the Dead Vault and Oranthel image, I'm not sure he has any other contributions. I wonder of this has turned into the freelance project and he straight up isn't providing art at the moment. At this point, it's all mostly driven by the Deviant Art guy and we have no class or race art save a couple of icons.

Honestly I agree with Ut when it comes to that last minute spike. I really don't think you can give enthusiastic fans the credit for those. I think it often comes down to shady business. As they start to near that minimum limit I think the guys running these big kickstarters take steps to make sure they secure all that backer money. It really wouldn't be hard to convince a potential business partner (like a publisher) to invest $100,000 now, and as soon as that $800,000 is secured from kickstarter they get their investment back immediately. They have nothing to lose and a business partner gets funded.

With that in mind you can see how Richard Garriott's kickstarter was never going to fail. All he had to do was milk backers as best he could for a month. If the fan enthusiasm pushed the kickstarter over the limit then great. If it didn't he could use a fraction of his millions to push it over the finish line to insure he got that money. I imagine Brad is going over his options as well. If there is $600,000 sitting there on kickstarter in 24 days he isn't going to let it go easily heh.

LOL the problem is getting this to 600K. Never happen at this trickle. Even if they hit a measly $10K a day for the remainder, it would still net them $500Kish, not even close. Oh and they are not even hitting $10K a day anyway.

does it appear to anyone else that in the revenant race description, each paragraph was intended to be the sole paragraph?

to me, they read like drafts v1 and v2 that someone forgot to consolidate

not to mention, the whole thing is just lore... no actual meat like: "as the living dead, the revenant race is strongly suited to dark magics and less effective at healing and beneficial spells" or something like that.

give me some FLAVOR, not just pulp lore about people, wars, and contextless shit that happened that i don't give a gadamn about
Yes, their writing skills pretty much suck ass.

Flavor, hrm? How about the undead aren't healed by heals, but hurt. Then the tables can be turned and your clerics will have to sit on their asses as your wizards become the main healer for your undead main tank.

And I think Ben is a cool guy and doing a good job interacting with the community, but it's been clear they have no actual PR guy, marketing guy, or business guy.
This has stood out to me the whole time. Ben seems to not eb cut out for his position on the team. For marketing, and tiers ect.. Brad would have been better simply crowd-sourcing decisions from this thread. They have simply sucked in this department.

What sucks is the more I actually read I like the project more and more. Even if it is clear they are making it up as they go along. Personally for me having "real shit" on the project is and never was soo important as the idea itself. Way I see it the game is so far out anyways any info is massively subject to change and this would be the case for a game that had been worked on for a couple months beforehand or eitherway

So Reddit tomorrow and Mr. youtubes #1 neckbeard on thursday.

I can't see it happening. But in my bank robbing dreams Brad just fucking nails the AMA. Rallys the Reddit gaming community, and then Mr Boogie just basically tells everyone to give up tha $

I am kinda ignorant about live-streaming, it never seemed very important to me.

but is it really important that an interview is taking place live on a stream? I mean don't people just watch that shit on youtube whenever anyways?

nevermind...
I don't pay much attention to live-streaming/twitch or w/e. So maybe this is me being ignorant.

But we are talking about an interview here. Is being able to watch is live really important? I mean won'y 99.5% of people just watch is on Youtube whenever?

Brad, Ben, Salim and maybe Vu seem to be the "core-team". I cant remember to read anything from the other members. So its essentially 3-4 guys doing stuff since Nov?

That's what it feels like (add in Vhalen) and probably is. Vu wasn't even on the original team, either. I think Jason Weimann made about one post total before going dark and outside of the first week, there was never really much involvement from anyone else. I understand having to pay the bills but it does seem odd that the majority of the people behind the vision are noticeably absent, which is obviously why shit like concept art for races and classes are nowhere to be seen and that one zone was lifted from a two-year-old drawing.
