Yep. Investors, in general, rarely go for video games because of how IP "sales" work in terms of assets (IE as far I know, they sell for dick--so the only way to recoup money on them is to have connections at a studio that can build on them); and how difficult it is to track progress on software. This is why almost all investment in games is done by publishers--who almost always insist on owning the IP and any work done as soon they sign AND they get to set goal posts where they can take their money back if the goals aren't met. I mean, publishers are brutal, but that's because they can be--because investors with real capital keep it away from video games.
I mean, it's not unheard of to get an investor to pay in to a company without an established game game already (But it is rare). But any investor is going to have an accountant give Brad the financial version of a prostate exam before he comes within 100 feet; and without a working demo, and a lot of technology already in place? Nope. (Even looking at that other game that got posted, the one who had a private investor? They already had working tech demos and environments; and a ton of work into the game, and even with that the investor had them do a KS just to make sure there was outside interest,beforehe invested the full amount.)
So yeah, I'd be absolutely astonished if any investor would even stop to look at this. A publisher is the only thing that mightbutno publisher is going to buy it as is (They need work done to hedge their risk).

He's basically laying it out that NOBODY in the business is willing to give him money. You guys should see if he'll give you all his work to date and see if you can home grow this sucker because it aint happening.
I actually found several but I found one, Shadowrun: Online, that is probably a lot more comparable to the type of project Pantheon is. It only had $250,000 of it's $500,000 20 days into it's 28 day campaign but managed to put it in during the last week to get up to $558,838.

Looking at those charts it looks like they had very little interest in their campaign until the final week.
There are invite only forums up where you have to be approved to be able to post.
They then are having the super secret 15/month alpha forums for those who want into that tier. KS forums show people saying they have been charged for that. So yes , you all may be on the invite only forums , but there is the plan for the paid forums also.
It's moot fucking point now. Please , anyone defending this shit stop , stop now. I was one of the idiots who threw in KS with the hopes he had learned his lesson.
But as pointed out before ,let's again post Brad's public fucking tweet from tonight.
"If anyone knows an angel investor or other type of investor who might be interested in investing in VR, please let me know."
How are any , ANY of you so delusional to not see this is done. Period. He's begging for investors on Twitter. He doesn't have money bag investors lined up. The ONLY money he is going to get is LESS than the 400K max on Kickstarter , because there's a large portion of KS folks who are not donating anything to a private site , or much less. If you still, still try and spin this shit as possible when he's begging on Twitter for angel investors , I just honestly feel as sorry for you as I do for Brad at this moment.
Just when I thought the KS debacle couldn't get any worse , I play with the kids a couple hours and come back to that tweet.
He needs to just slink away.

Another AMA already? Any questions that have come up since the last AMA sure as hell aren't going to be of a positive nature. It'll be some serious troll bait.
All that was needed was in invite code from the team. I did not at any time give them any credit card information. They do have a subscription thing you can sign up for but it's not necessary and currently seems to offer no benefit. This confusion seems to stem from one person in the comments on the kickstarter page that did sign up simply because they wanted to give the pantheon team extra support despite the devs both on the official site and on the kickstarter page saying that it wasn't currently necessary.
