Please explain. The skill preview looked average.
Lancing looked the worst of the bunch. It's true that their highlight videos usually suck(except for Venom Gyre) but even relative to its poor standard, Lancing Steel cleared like shit. All their videos look average at best lol. I'm hoping shattering will clear a lot better than just basically being a shitty ranged version of lacerate, even it will probably require chain or fork support.
Lancing probably clears like a god but I don't see it having any kind of realistic single target numbers unfortunately. Could be a potential gem swap though depending on what the others shake out like.
Tribal Fury + Multistrike + Melee Splash generally solves this issue. It's definitely less laid back than other minion builds, that is still true. I can't decide Witch or Templar. The nerf to Glancing Blows seems to make Witch better now.My main issue with dom blow was that minions kill shit before you get a chance to hit if you're not zooming really fast, so it's somewhat "stressful" for a minion build cause if you stop hitting stuff you start losing minions and then sure you can hit them more easily, but you also have less minions so you're more likely to die. It was otherwise very powerful and you do get more sustain than traditional summoners since you can get life on hit and stuff.
I'm mostly waiting to see these alternate skill gems shit to figure out if I'll bother playing. I'm not too interested in Heist but if they have some interesting quality minion gems I might. Skeleton was somewhat interesting but I don't want to play ranged skeletons either, and zombie felt like a fucking joke so not sure that's gonna happen. I'm also somewhat interested in Salvo but they didn't change shit for elementalist(other than making golems persist through log ins, which admitedly is a big QoL but they need a better way to make golems not die too) and I don't like playing the other classes as much.
Shattering steel numbers look sick, basically better than double strike numbers with an extra 200% more like wth...but trying to map something out in PoB..what can i say, it's not a melee ability, so you're SOL for so many gems and passives, so atleast for me i couldn't find a way to make it work. First thought was a saviour variant to help create impales that you can suck up vs bosses otherwise you spend 2 charges to get 1 impale/charge back. If you could use multistrike that would be fixed and it would speed up the impale ramp too but no.
TL: DR Shattering steel seems too janky so I atleast am not brave enough to league start it even if i was super hyped for like 30 minutes.
Brutality, Viscious, Point Blank, Impale, Slower Proj, one of Fork/Chain/LMP/GMP/Volley/Pierce. Maim too if slower proj or point blank isn't good, and it's possible you'll want 2 of the projectile spread things for map clearing anyway like fork+lmp or whatever no idea how it plays out.Yea you're not kidding. I saw the numbers for shattering steel as well and it looked sick, but holy shit I forgot how like basically every physical gem that exists has melee only tags on it.
You get brutality and then what, like viscious proj and impale? I guess you use conc effect? Fork or chain? Damage options look real sparse though.
Same patch that let you put enduring cry on left click. It's not as rosy as you might think. It's definitely an improvement for mapping, but it makes managing a long detonation sequence during boss fights close to impossible.
Clunkier I would say. How many times have you dodged a boss ability that you've dodged thousands of times, but you still die to it once in a while because keeping LMB depressed is such a habit? The ol walk out of the fire only to walk right back into it.I figure it can't be any clunkier than self casting bladefall/bladeblast which I didn't mind too much. Glacial cascade is new and kinda spicy looking, so may give that a roll with some mines just to build some cash before I inevitably build a terrible steel build.
