Heatshiver and Ignite doesn't seem like a worthwhile combination. Ignite builds typically don't scale the initial hit, making it hard to reliably freeze.

I haven't looked at exactly how a Frost Blades / Heatshiver build is set up but wouldn't you have a reasonable amount of elemental damage + the fire damage from Heatshiver + 100% more ignite damage? Meaning its basically a bunch of extra free damage?

Basically, build it exactly how you would normally build a Frost Blades / Heatshiver build and just add that crucible node? Are there really other T5 weapon nodes that would be better?

Heatshiver price might be insane this league though, with it getting a rarity nerf and freeze builds looking to be meta.

Oh I guess they haven't said its getting rarity nerfed, just that everyone seems to be expecting it. I've seen people talking like it was confirmed already which confused me. We'll see over the weekend or into next week I guess. Frostblade trickster was a build I was thinking of starting, but I'm not gonna gamble on it at launch without knowing for sure if the rarity was nerfed.

If I take a look back at my "starter" version last league, it did ~100k ignite dps. It's total dps was ~11.5M. If I add those two nodes, it gains ~250k ignite dps, or ~2.1% more dps. You might need to tailor the build more towards that passive.

I haven't looked at crucible passives, I don't know what the competition is.

Yea I guess this makes sense since you aren't going to be scaling DoT multi/Burning Damage with a standard Frost Blades build.

Honestly think I might just take the plunge with Frostblade Trickster, whether or not HS got a tier change. I figure what's the most it could cost, 5-10 divs? I feel like you only really need HS to scale past T16s no?

I'd say Covenant is equal in power(and somehow not nerfed?) and popularity. So if you want to prepare for the worst, use that as a comparison.

You can raw dog frostblades all the way to red maps without too much issue - just make a hybrid ele claw for trinity and go nuts.

I have no idea where all the weird doom and gloom about heatshiver is coming from other than the general malaise of the PoE reddit being full of butthurt 24/7.

An item of that power level should be rarer or more expensive. Maybe reddit being reddit is amplifying it, but the core principle is sound. Broken clock yadda yadda.

It took them multiple leagues to nerf Molten Shell such that it was somewhat of a surprise. It took them one league to nerf Lightning Conduit, and I'd argue it didn't deserve it.

So who know how they go about this shit.

So whats the best bases to juice from a chance orb into unique perspective so you don't need to hit high ilvl affix rolls and can pick upp bases as you clear the atlas?
Not my own idea but Prophecy wands (void battery) and steel kite shields (emperors vigilance) both have promise, anything else?

edit: Maybe Lead sceptres (Brutus lead sprinkler)

Guess i'm going to try out this fire trap/frostblink build that's going the rounds. I do love me some ignite.

Welp, I did 3 builds to the mid 90's last league, and since poor RS got fucked by the league mechanic I am a little turned off with it at the moment.

I DID enjoy Ziz's EA Champ and it was super easy to gear up, so I think I will start that for Crucible. It is very scrub-player accessible, which is about the best definition of a PoE build for me.

Unfortunately I am house/dog sitting for a friend who has complete shit internet - I may have to take my computer home for a few minutes to update PoE tomorrow lol.

You could roll toxic rain with everyone else, ballista, pathfinder or champ if you prefer that.

Was just screwing around in POB with the new Abyssal items. Seems like they're good? A voidforge+Wild Strike Slayer build using Lightpoacher + Shroud + Bubonic Trail + abyssal jewel stacking was returning solid numbers, like 5M-10M with nothing fancy gear-wise. Seems like it could get to the 20M level without too much trouble at all.

Not sure if I want to start with something like that though.
Decisions :(
