Also someone on reddit posted this and people were saying it is a multi-thousand exalt item. Can someone explain why +1% max res is so cream-worthy?

You can see what charges do in the charges tab on your char screen. I'm too lazy to check the wiki, but iirc endurance charges are 5% physical damage reduction and 10 all resists per charge. You gain endurance charge in a variety of ways, like from Warlord's Curse or Enduring Cry. You can also consume your charges with Immortal Call to become immune to physical damage for a short duration(longer with more charges). Can you explain endurance charges in lay terms for me as well?
The reddit thread seemed to think the base item was worth ~150ex and the vaal'ing was about a 1/50 shot so they just surmised 150*50 is the relative price. I just was wondering why something which seems so small (1% res) was so valuable.Oh right didn't even see it was a legacy kaom. Yeah that shit's worth a stupid amount of exalts without anything else, it was nerfed down to 500hp.
Alright that puts it in better perspective. It did say it was the absolute BiS if you're speccing to use the item so I figured that probably massively inflated the price of the piece. It's like chasing +1 stat upgrades in D3 on ancient items, mostly futile unless you are big into trading or need to have the best no matter what.
So if we dumb it down really bad and say 1% res = 1% mitigation the game doesn't actually scale it that way? So going from 75% to 76% is a greater increase than 1% mitigation?1% is a huge amount of elemental mitigation in this game the way it scales. Its generally not an easy stat to get as well being in polar opposite of places on the skill tree and only for one element at a time. Some decent uniques for some builds have it but most of them are junk to equip with too much downsides for the max res. Flasks are a really good way to get max resistances and I almost always use lightning and fire in maps. There is nodes near the witch start which also can increase your max res on flasks with % modifiers to them via skill points.
Well look at it that way, you never take 100% of the damage, you only take 25% since you have 75% resist at all times(besides leveling the first time in a new league and that kind of shit, but generally speaking, you never want less than 75%). If 25% is your baseline, the only actual amount you ever get hit with, reducing this by 1% is a 4% improvement over not having it. Now that's not a crazy amount, but with the way crits scale and the secondary effects(freeze/shock duration), it's a pretty solid improvement. So if we dumb it down really bad and say 1% res = 1% mitigation the game doesn't actually scale it that way? So going from 75% to 76% is a greater increase than 1% mitigation?

Patch notes are currently aimed for next Wednesday NZ time btw.
Yep yep, like the death that got me to quit the game. I've actually thought about coming back and messing around on the game again but that death still pisses me off enough that I haven't bothered yet.Unless you are rather serious/experienced, I think the game makes for a fairly crappy HC experience. Desyncs are thankfully not a problem anymore, but I still get random disconnects, freezes and stutters that can be deadly and those deaths would feel VERY cheap on hardcore.
I can say proudly that Ive never died from going afk in a zone in PoE. Dont worry though Krassus, you arnt the only one to have done something like this.Believe me I know and the worst part is my RL buddies and my brother who both play PoE were in my office on other PCs and didn't even move me and just laughed at me making it worse.
The feels were so real that night.. anger, sadness, guilt
Skimm did it a long time ago lol.I can say proudly that Ive never died from going afk in a zone in PoE. Dont worry though Krassus, you arnt the only one to have done something like this.
