You can use FilterBlade - Path of Exile Loot Filter Customizer to make your own stuff if you like, it's pretty neat. Can use Neversink as a base and edit stuff, hell you can like alt tab to edit in specific link/colors you might need, download the updated filter, reload it ingame and bam you can now easily spot the links you need while lvling, then just revert back once you find an item that fits.

You get used to it. I don't even see the items anymore. All I see is vendor recipe, crafting fodder, poe.trade.

Filterblade is probably the best, loot filters can also play sounds, so you don't miss anything dropping offscreen

I haven't gotten used to it in ~1000 hours.

FilterBlade is good, but I can't figure out how to show the Chaos recipe stuff, but never show shields > 2x2 or 2x4 bows. When I hide tower/kite shields or big bows it also wipes out a bunch of chest armor and some other stuff that I might need to pick up.

I also want the new sounds that say the name of the currency item and I'm not sure what the syntax to turn that on manually in Notepad++ is, since none of Neversink's filters appear to use it. (edit: for more than just Mirror/Exalted/Divine, that is)

Just made it back to Sarn, really impressive expansion so far. Nice mix of old zones, mixed up zones and new zones. I have literally no idea what's in store for Act 9+10 so really looking forward to those.

Facerolling it mostly as a Necromancer but I've been lazy optimising my gear so bosses one shot me sometimes.

Kitava wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. Died once to a random one shot but stayed alive by TPing back to town like 8 times heh.

New boss HP feels terrible, you just stand there and whack them for extra 10 seconds for the same shitty drops. I went from t7 back to t4 maps simply because that shit ain't dropping. And getting greeted by ghosted Bameth made me nope out of one map already. a10 and lunaris mobs in maps are pain in the ass, the rest seems mostly bearable, but at least it's something new compared to 2.6

Got up to 60 or 50 something, almost done with act 8. The game started to get hard and was pretty enjoyable where I got one-shot everytime I screwed up, but then I shored up my resist gear and spent a few points in some life nodes and now it's pretty easy, but not quite faceroll level. I think I got killed by a water bottle in the spa zone in act 8 while I was checking out my talent tree. The bosses in the last few acts require me to play properly which is nice. I've been hearing a lot of whining about act 9/10 and the final boss so I'm excited to try them out.

What's the typical market trend for new leagues? Ex: I need to buy a couple Touch of Anguish which are priced at 70chaos right now, 3 days away from league release. On standard they are one chaos (lol). How long do people expect before they reach, say, 10 chaos?

Settled on this. Grand total I spent 3 Chaos (to buy a 2nd Frozen Trail) so far. Never really played a totem build before, it's just disgusting with 4 totems spamming 5 orbs all over the screen. By the way, the Frost Bolt Black Hole MTX is mandatory to play this.

I am loving this expansion. It just "feels" good regarding progression.

Not sure how I totally ignored this game for so long, but I finally jumped in this weekend. Did a fire nova mine build and got to L38 - Act 4, before rerolling to try tornado shot build which is at L20 - Act 2.

Is the game far more dependent on skill/support gems/passives than gear? I noticed on my fire nova mine character that I was losing tool tip DPS whenever I tried to change from my L1 3 blue linked wand even using way better damage/stat weapons that were 3 blue linked which is pretty counter intuitive coming from other ARPGs as higher level typically meant better aside from unique/set items.

Figured out how to use loot filter, PoE builder and did a couple of poe.trades last night. Are there any other resources worth checking out for quality of life or should those do the trick?

ITs just all experience, really. I learned a lot from watching streamers, especially those that do the races.First thing to learn is how damage scales, this is very important. 2nd Biggest thing to learn, IMO, with this game is the items what to keep, its relative value, and what to get rid of because its junk.

Got to 73ish as a 2h duelist(slayer) and beat act 10. The damn life regen elites or whatever in act 10 were retarded. Still missing a ton of items to make it work (molten 2h axe) but it got the job done I guess. Probably start looking into a movement/ranged build next. All in all not only is this the highest level char I've ever had but the reason it is is due to how fun this latest season/changes are. 10/10 would play again.

Regarding gear (rares, not uniques) learn the stat tiers that each item can have. That'll learn you what separates an OK item from a Good item from a zomfgGREAT item.

I know must off them by heart now but PoEAffix is my go-to if I can't remember something.

I learned most of the shit I know by constantly looking at stuff on the PoE Wiki.

Once significant amount of players hit maps, the prices of all but the best gear tend to hit rock bottom, which is about 2 weeks into the league, however this time it might be different, since you have a lot of new players who probably won't sell anything unless they buy premium tabs, but can still buy items.

I think that is where I'm going to struggle is keeping an eye out for useful rares and/or what could be used for crafting purposes. So used to ignoring anything that isn't unique/set.

I'm surprised the exalt market is already going nuts. Normally Exalts are like 1:40-45 chaos for a week and then they skyrocket to like 1:75-100. They're already at 50+.

It depends. A few diff streamers put out start builds that require these so demand is off the charts. They may drop down to 30-40 (maybe) but then as chaosflation starts they could rise back up. Thank Mathil for the price of this item.

Yeah I accepted this reality by choosing a popular build pushed by a lot of popular people. I'm basically square in the group of newbies causing overpriced items.

Ironically Mathil didn't even suggest using claws in his build, and I'm more following these two builds:
Forum - Witch - [3.0]PewPewPews Official Cheap Firestorm Build - Perfect for Newcomers/SSF - Path of Exile
Forum - Ranger - [3.0 UPDATED] DW Frost Blades - 80% cold pen, Insane clear speed All CONTENT "cheap" - Path of Exile

Which have quite a few differences.

It's a legit strat for finding starter builds. Zero in on a streamer build then head to the forums and find a build that's similar but uses some diff equipment. Even of the forum build is a little weaker you're close to everything on the tree so it's cheap to respec and you can choose to switch over at your leisure.
