You should craft yourself weapons. People will be charging an absolute fortune.
If you are prepared to save up the correct fossils and a bit of currency it's no biggy to make something half decent and progress further till you can make something really nice.
I played EH hit deadeye and made myself a bow that would have cost me 15ex for less than 2ex in fossils and currency last league. The markups people make on selling weapons are staggeringly high.
When you buy a weapon from someone your literally throwing currency in the bin unless it's very cheap or it's so good you've never got a chance of hitting its perfection yourself.
All you need to do is watch a video on how to craft it, Ziz has made a video on crafting pure phys weapons here.
If you need a certain craft and don't have it ask here as people will help if they have it available.
Regretting starting as Tec Slam Chieftain. Only just got to maps and gear is shit so don't really have the feel of it down but it's not great. Normal mobs wipe easily but rares/uniques take awhile to kill. My first map was barely cleared, took me to the last portal (though all the deaths were stupid syndicate). It's also pretty bad at the Legion stuff so far.
Specifically, ED/Contagion with a special mention for Vaal Ice Nova. The melee reworks looks well done, but it's going to be HARD to try any other build this league.
Are you using a guide or made your own build? Thinking of rolling that top ED/Cont trickster build on poebuilds.cc. I've never done a shadow/trickster or ED/contagion. Not a lot of time to play so I want to make sure a re-roll is going to stick!
I'm assuming people are just using ed contagion as a league starter because it doesn't require much gear to be good and are saving currency to go melee.

Yeah, I haven't switched to shields yet. Waiting for Zeel's to drop in price a bit. Seems you can't get fortify to proc if you use a wand, but works with daggers and scepters.

Jugg cyclone is coming along. I switched to maces for the +aoe DMG nodes and now my spinny man has about 3/4 screen coverage. Still on a 4 link but it's doing fairly good damage.

Tectonic feels like shit in average starting end game gear. The attack speed and multistrike nerf hurts a lot and the aoe is also smaller now. Damage seems okish but the change to rares is just ponderous. I should probably log into standard and play my geared character to see how it ends up in late game before I keep going.

You'll be able to buy whatever you want i'd imagine. There's normally a unique that while not optimal is usable till the T16 red maps for most weapons.
My advice on crafting only stems from the fact that I absolutely hate the way people rip off each other in this game - rather than the fact that I enjoy doing it.
Gladiator with bladestorm still feels pretty fucking good moving in to maps. My gear is complete ass but tier 4-5 maps still just melt. Using like ~150-200dps shitty rare axes and it doesn't matter between the massive attack speed + bleed stacks. You just swap to blood for any tougher rares and bosses when you need to.
Only complaint about gladiator so far is that it doesn't interact with Legion at all and it's getting pretty annoying. You can't generate their charges off the legion mobs, nor do they make bleed explosions, so I have just none of the 50/100/150 Legion challenges done at all yet cause I suck so bad at clearing them.

This is why I'm doing it, it's still a monster with legion attacks. In fact, the league mechanic has been trivial since level 12 and a single cast of Cont/ED unlocks like 98% of all mobs. I made a video of it, though its choppy AF for some reason, but the initial unlock is smooth. I'm also terribly geared in the video lol. And by terrible, I mean TERRIBLE.
I'll probably play it until about T10 or so maps, then depending on how well I'm able to faceroll, I'll continue. It's a lot of damage, but the defense leaves much to be desired.

The main diff between swords and axes is if you need to take resolute technique or not. I wasn't able to get anywhere near accuracy cap with axes, so I had to spend 2 points on resolute and dump all my crit. Swords with their implicits may let you forego this, but in general are more expensive.
Yeah. I decided to go axes and resolute and not have to worry with getting crit on the gear and such. Never really browed thru builds on PoE Ninja. The amount of people 90+ still in a tabula is kind of eye opening.

Properly geared, Trickster can rival Jugg in terms of reasonable tankiness. You aren't going to sit in shaper beams, but you'll avoid almost everything thrown your way.
Getting accuracy seems pretty easy tbh, although I guess it does depend on the build in the end, but it seemed with just Precision and maybe a 3point accuracy node(which also give additional stats like attackspeed or crit) you'd be capped or near capped. What I didn't like about sword nodes though is they're spread all over and a lot of them seemed kinda meh. I was checking if I could convert my claw poison build into sword poison for the longer reach and I can, but I'm trading 4weapon range for 20% DPS and a bunch of life leech/life on hit, so I don't think it's super worth it, although for Viper Strike melee range is pretty good. Wish there were more ways to increase weapon range tbh, like putting it on melee splash would be pretty cool. Just +2 or so at 20, maybe +3 at 21.
Anyway don't know if I want to keep playing Viper Strike, it's not like, completely shit, and in fact the DPS is stupidly high(PoB showing 4.5m Shaper DPS with about 15chaos worth of gear and a 6L Dendrobate so maybe a couple ex total) but it's just annoying to play at times, and it's absolute trash at Legion since as far as I can tell the Pathfinder poison prolif doesn't even work.

I look forward to it. But right now, I've been trying to semi-ssf my gear just to see how well I can do before I go buy things. But yeah, sounds great. This build recommended The Perfect Form as the end-game body armor, which is my highest priority.
