Yeah all I have left is that and shaper which i'm saving until I finish red elder so I get quest completion at the same time (maybe tomorrow if influence plays nicely). I've gotten lucky in a couple leagues and either had cadiro sell it to me or gotten it from encroaching darkness (pretty sure I got it from encroaching in one league).

God uber elder cleared last night, only took 4 deaths!

Fight wasn't quite as bad as I thought it would be, but it's still pretty chaotic and it was hard to tell what was actually killing me most of the time. A lot of it is obvious - shaper orbs, beam, etc, but I don't really know what a lot of the ground effects do aside from general "don't stand in them", and Elders attacks in general are a bit confusing aside from his general melee and ice spears.

Elder is the one that fucks me up usually. Not cause his abilities hurt, but he fucking slows me down to a crawl if I'm not careful.

I played around with the low level syndicate farming, in 2 1/2 hours I was able to get two interventions with max rank chimeria as leader, which is 4 gilded sulphite scarabs, netting me 120c in 2 1/2 hours not counting rewards from the other safehouses (nothing really notable). On the plus side those 4 scarabs got me like 40k sulphite.

There's a newer more detailed guide on how to manipulate the syndicate. If someone isn't in the order you want, you need to derank them to 0 rank, then when they aid someone in the order that you want, you'll then get the option to execute them which will put them in that specific order. You then keep running zones till you can 1. max rank them 2. imprison the dude who was the leader of the order. Once you imprison the leader of the order, the highest rank in that order (so whoever you want needs to be maxed out) will take their place.

So I had to 1. derank chimeria 2. run zones till chimeria aided the current intervention leader and I can execute him (now joins intervention) 3. run zones till I can max out chimeria's rank 4. run zones till I can imprison the intervention leader, making chimeria the new intervention leader.

Indeed, but losing my CWDT links is not something I've been willing to do.

He's on farm right now anyway, I'm just more cautious of the slow and it's fine. Last kill was deathless.

This is what, the 3rd straight league that interacting with the league mechanic is better done through non-map farming than otherwise?

Really wish they'd think of this because it's common enough to just make me roll my eyes at it. This happens too much. Would it really that bad that you can't interact with some mechanics until maps?

Well to be fair, Delve was pretty much map only after the 2nd week when they buffed map sulphite and tied it to iiq, but agree with the rest, the league mechanics always need too much tuning. Hell, I remember them nerfing invasion at least 3 times.

There is no risk of death or any kind of danger since you arent rolling 8 prop maps. All of the RMT fags and people never good enough to get 100 before are doing it. DatModz is a prime example of a retard from D3 who wasnt good enough to ding 100 and now with breachstones was able to. This is exactly how the top team won from the racers who practice and prepare etc, they just bought breachstones when no one knew yet.

They might as well let us get 1/2 the XP with 8 sextants again and 3x the density in maps. The whole reason to nerf outdoor linear fun maps and sextants was that people leveled to 100 too fast which is moot now.

People leveling every ascendancy class or 10 of the same VFB or Vaal Spark was why, the money was good but during breach it came from uniques early on and maps.

Yep, this is exactly how you do it. The RNG is just whom gets aided and such, but that's what I do like about the system. You can, when done right, make much more with it than most other league systems. Especially doing sulfire scarabs or take a risk with things like cameria as transportation leader for league items for that juicy HH or whatnot.

The mechanic is really good. Just the instruction is poor.

On red tier maps, I can't always get the door down before adds start swarming the place. Anyone know if killing the necros will stop the adds from spawning? If not, I might just go to Blood Aqueducts whenever fortification shows up.

I somehow mistakenly rigged it so all my maps spawn labs now, and I haven't entered one since that happened. I think I could handle the Syndicate better now since I got my resists and hp in order, but I don't care enough to find out. This is my first PoE season so maybe in a week or two I'll revisit them when I'm hopefully even better geared and the xp loss won't matter to me as much.

Going to try this as it's really annoying delving and only being able to hit 5-10 nodes at at time. Cheers for posting.

Anyone recommend a Winter Orb build and if they played it, is it ok for mapping and bossing? I like the look of it from people's videos as it looks quite fun to play. Fancy a change right about now from jugg, even though it's been crazy good to play (it's a bit more expensive though compared to my last league builds, but i guess it's quite popular).

This league seems to be quite a bit more expensive generally.

Syndicate encounters rotate. As long as you don't complete the Laboratory, it will stay that way until you do.

Yeah, I used to think they were no big deal, but I'm on the "Fuck the Syndicate" bandwagon for awhile now. Nothing like losing your previous few night's worth of xp because they fucking one shot you, and are still there when you come back to that spot on the map (usually there are just some generic operatives), and rape you again.

I'm a noob at this game, I admit it, but my resists are all high enough over cap that enfeeble still leaves me capped, and my fucking chaos resist is even 74 naturally! I've got 6.7k hps, which isn't huge I know, but decent, and I still get bent over by the Syndicate way more often than not. It wouldn't be so bad if they didn't appear to gain all the map abilities too. But since I don't ever manipulate them perfectly, I'm not really gaining a lot beyond some occasional lucky happenstances in the safehouses, and I think they'll need to go back into the lab and stay there.

Honestly, my build is kind of reaching its cap I think. At least, for my level of gear investment and game experience/knowledge anyway. I'm sure someone else could make it work far past where I'm at. As a reminder, I'm Dominating Blow/Herald of Purity, and if 20+ minions are up, sure I am fine most of the time. But if I jump into an incursion or something else with no minions up, I just can't handle it sometimes long enough to proc my dudes. I have to kill stuff to make the DB boys show up, and that can be problematic.

Fuck, now I'm convincing myself to make a jugg. I was gonna wait until next league, but that could be months away. I am slowly starting to dislike this playstyle, and am pretty sure jugg would tickle my fancy more. And what else am I gonna do with all this shit I've hoarded?! Most of it doesn't sell anyway.

Maybe I'll try a_skeleton_03's build, or waste more of my employer's money browsing the forums.

PoE does a very poor job of telling you to slow the fuck down and farm some maps. If you graphed it out, you'd see this weird double step graph where monster and player power level are zig zagging each other. Syndicate make monster power level even spikier.

I bought a Vitality LoH gem last night and the difference is quite palpable. Swear to god, they should just subtext all melee abilities with "only if you can play at range or abuse LoH". If you can't, your ceiling is much lower than classic ranged builds or your margins are much tighter. Mathil put out a build last night to address the melee complaints but uses dual Bloodseekers.

There's a reason old VP was so popular. And while they were right to nerf it, I believe they haven't truly dealt with the problem and have only covered it up with power creep.
