Years of character investment. They’ve both played since 2004. I’d played since 06. I get it to some degree. Both usually just farm achieves and mounts too.

I reallly really wanna quit this game because now after nearly 15 months , it’s definitely gotten in the way of me playing other games at this point, and I hardly play games with my friends anymore who don’t play Poe. But every time I wanna quit they announce a new league and I can’t help myself.

I think I get about 4-6 weeks of nonstop play out of each league. Then after that I putter out. Going for 40/40 or a mirror or 100 (pre super breaches) would definitely give me more to do, but I don't really care about that stuff. I've been so close to 36/40 every league, but I don't even use MTX's so it means nothing to me personally.
What I've been doing now is basically just using my moderate amount of currency (10ex+) and just trying new builds I created. They're like, 30% successful. It's a good way to get better at the end game and min-maxing of the game. It's just kind of a testament to how good their game is that an essentially single player game, which I hate, is so good I can play it for hundreds of hours each league. And it's not even on the grind your dailies to get uber faction mechanic that all MMO's are. It's just genuinely fun to try things out with items you find or make.

Anyone have issues with HoWA occultist in delve? I'm at around 310 and those chargy dudes in vaal cities are already oneshotting my 8k ES. I know the build should have more, but I thought my curses would carry me at least farther than that.
Can't beat the vaal boss either, around the same delve level. That meteor attack he does chunks my hp faster than I can react. Maybe should have gone jugg, 80% less curse effectiveness seems to really neuter this build.

Friend is a HOWA Occultist. He got the +energy shield on hit with discipline Watcher's Eye. That with ball lightning curse on hit GMP he said basically carries him. He also has like 12k ES. He's around 600 delve now. I'm pretty sure unless you got nasty modifiers you just need to get 10k ES if you can and the Watcher's Eye, even though it's close to the most sought after eye.

It's more about it hitting multiple times with multiple balls for +ES each time. Slower is good as well, as it'll hit the same enemies more often, but GMP will net you more total hits unless you're near just 1 mob. I think ideally if you don't use Tombfists or something you'd want shaper gloves with slower proj built in for your 5 link CwD setup.

Decisions, decisions. Can't decide if this suffix is good enough to use imprint on. It's not ideal, for starters it could've been tier 1 but the best is probably AS + 20%dd imo but its the first roll worth considering ive seen in probably 700 alts (150 chaos equivalent, imprint beast around 100c). It doesnt matter that much though, i dont have any particular goals for the rest of this league but experiment and make mistakes, like learning where to settle and where to be patient with my craftings, so im better prepared for the next league.
