A Curse tag doesn't mean it's a curse skill, just that it's affected by things that affect curses. Kinda like how Dom blow has a minion tag, but isn't affected by minion damage directly(the minions it summons are). Blasphemy specifically makes curse skills into auras. Making Bane into a permanent aoe dot that also applies all curses you have linked to it would be pretty weird.

They might overlook having Bane still apply curses linked to it even if Blasphemy is also linked, which normally wouldn't be a problem because that's two supports wasted, but Doedre's Skin has Blasphemy built in and ignores curse limit so you might be able to 5-curse Bane with it while ignoring the curse limit.

I honestly don't see how Bane isn't going to be stupid overpowered unless the raw DPS on the skill is next to nothing. It has the curse tag and Hex Master is 80% increased duration with 40% increased AOE, so with 49% more damage per curse you can just vaporize half the screen with one click.

Just wrapped up 31 challenges with 30 mins left, my personal best out of 4 leagues. Fully upgrade all the rooms was a bullshit challenge completely dependent on RNG, only ended up with 15/24. Defeat Mastermind II also seemed like AIDS, I barely beat that bitch with 6 portals just to complete the regular challenge.
This is what channels 820 and 4040 are for. I bought Mastermind II for 1ex and finished up the rest of upgrade at a few chaos each.

Leech Length Nerf
Previously, there was no upper limit on how much an individual leech effect could restore. This meant that a very high damage hit with enough leech could last minutes, if not longer, if you had an effect letting your leech remain on full life. Now, there is a limit of 10% restored per leech effect, so each individual leech effect can't last more than 5 seconds. For the Ascendant's Slayer Passive Skill, this is 5% lower.

After thinking about this league for a few days...I probably won't be playing a whole lot this league. RL is a bit busy...DMC 5 comes out the same day.... and most importantly, I am a melee fanboy at heart. I'm happy about the caster buffs cause they needed it but it isn't really my playstyle. 3.7 sounds like a better time for me to no-life it hard. I'll still play but gonna be mostly casual. Deathwing and Mr. Bunny(ps: ya brands gonna get nerfed boii) gotta go ham for me.

Edit: That slayer leech nerf....does this make slayer worse than berserker now?

Yeah was going to post the same thing. Never played ES but of all the stuff they've shown so far this one seems to be a lot and would apply to all ES builds.

The self cast changes sound great, but is it going to be enough to overcome ele reflect? Traps were nice because I gave no fucks.

Reflect affects much more than just self cast, so this comment doesn't make sense.

If you self cast, then you have to care about ele reflect. Therefore, will the new benefits of self cast outweigh the pain in the ass when you can still go arc/totem/mine and not deal with it at all. I'm not sure why it matters that reflect affects more than self cast when my comment was specifically related to self cast.

I meant things that bypass cast time but still count as you casting like CoC, CwC, Mjolner, PP(Press F to pay respects), Cospri's, etc.

You could do what zombiewizardhawk zombiewizardhawk does and always play an ascendancy that ignore reflect.

OR

You could spend that scour + alch or chaos and reroll the map...

Or just deal with the minor loss of a map once in a while to a bad vaal...

All reflect does is cause you to spend a few extra chaos rerolling a map. It ain't like what it was before when mobs had reflect as a mod and you would randomly 1-shot yourself in a map with no reflect on it. This new "thorns" shit is easily avoidable if you keep moving.

Fuck. I found Ele reflect so fucking annoying on arc totems anyway that I either scoured or sold the map. You get your money back easily. This is like bitching about sustain.

Yeah this I agree with but if I understood correctly Deathwing was saying if you link Bane to Blasphemy, you'll be able to reserve 35%mana and blasphemy Bane itself into a permanent Bane aura that does a permanent dot AND applies all curses linked to it with the bonus damage, for just that reservation, which sounds more than unlikely. Bane isn't a Curse skill so it shouldn't be affected by Blasphemy and if it does, I assume it'll only apply curse when you actually cast it, not whenever anything enters the area. It should however probably work with linked curses even if they're also linked to Blasphemy, that part I agree with.

Regardless it does sound pretty strong, but it's also capped by the amount of curses you can actually apply. Granted, Doerdre's Skin ignores that, so if Bane applies Blasphemy curses fine, it'll definitely be pretty broken for that build, but obviously need to see the base values, if they balanced it with this in mind for damage, and for the rest it's more of a neat utility skill with some side damage, a way to apply 3 curses in one click for the standard Occultist for one less gem slot compared to curse on hit and with a hefty boost to duration so you don't have to bother recasting, while also getting a bit of damage out of it but you'd rely on another skill to actually kill stuff.
