Feats should be every odd level. Or do you mean prerequisites? You can try the online reference document but I don't know how accurate it is to the game.

Welcome to Pathfinder! Spell damage has never been good. Fireball/Fire Snake are good for quickly mopping up large groups of weak enemies but the role of casters is pretty much to buff the party pre-encounter and then cast CC/summons during combat.

I don't know how Kingmaker works but casting buffs during combat usually isn't a good idea because taking a round to give an ally +1 to hit isn't great when you can just cast all your buffs for free before combat.

again, i'm only lvl 3. i played a ton of watered down 3.5 computer games (baldur's gate, etc) and i've been playing a pen and paper 5e game for 2 years, so i'm no stranger to the genre, but i've never had more than a passing exposure to pathfinder, so my experience is somewhat limited...

the time on debuffs seem to be extremely short. ray of enfeeblement IF IT HITS will only last for 6 seconds. at my level, that's a single attack. that just seems... the damage output of magic is terrible, and the CC/debuff aspect seems incredibly limited. i'm fine with a spell having no effect it it's saved against, that's part and parcel of the system. but my wizard only has 2 spells slots, using 1, having it stick, but only lasting a single round? seems like an incredibly poor use of a limited resource.

don't get me wrong, i'm REALLY enjoying the game, but i was also really looking forward to the arcane classes actually being effective.

Pathfinder like dnd 3.5 has magic users being pretty useless during the low levels. Some spells like sleep or color spray are still pretty effective though. Once you get past level ten or so is when magic become dominant. Was the same way as in Baldur's gate where unless you took sleep on pc caster or grabbed the wand of it that is hidden on a treestump early you really didn't have magic presence for the early levels.

Wizard/sorc (and useless bard) would be a lot better if they hadn't removed Grease from the spell list. I used Color Spray before I gave up on my wizard and it was resisted by every single thing I hit. Grease sits there for 1 min/level and makes them save against it every round if they try to move through it.

Having done more reading about Pathfinder now, I'd probably use a magus if I was dead set on playing an arcane class. Being able to refresh your spells sounds really strong, plus they can actually do a lot of damage with shocking grasp.

Also, V1.0.3 is up and the recruiting bug is finally fixed.

Summoning is the optimal magic use in Pathfinder. It creates a target for the enemy to waste attacks on, while setting up flanking attacks and other tactics. Think of spellcasters like EQ enchanters, and Clerics like porn fluffers, and you've got the idea for Pathfinder low level casting.

Healbot clerics aren't efficient in 3.5e / Pathfinder. Crowd Control / Damage Prevention / Buffs / Debuffs are the name of the game.

Yeah, I never tried making my wizard a nuker (it was conjuration focused and I hadn't pick a single blast spell). Still didn't like it much, and since the actual summoner class isn't in this game I decided I was better off with an inquisitor or druid for a summoner. Sacred Huntsmaster just sounds a lot more fun/interesting in general anyway. I'll grab a npc wizard for debuff bitch duty.

Still not sure how to setup my inq as a bowman though.

Point blank shot, rapid shot, etc but really with the throw anything+ darts and other thrownables turn you into a metal chucking machine between throwing bombs. Assuming it works like PnP Pathfinder.

Any stat minimums? Don't want to run into a situation like with melee where you forget to take 13 int and end up kicking yourself because you need Combat Expertise.

13 dex for all ranged feats is min. Ignore my bit about the bombs and throw anything I have been drinking. Just look up any bow build online and apply those feats. Million good ways to build melee and one one for bow.
Feat H: Point blank shot
Feat 1: Precise shot
Feat 3: Rapid shot

Aim for Many shot if that is a thing, haven't looked might not me, if not point blank master is nice. Also Zen Archer if available, adds Wis mod to hit or dmg I forget which.

Man I'm loving this game. I really suck at the movement and attack. I always seem to be off by a few seconds. I wish there was a grid movement and act mode like actual table top. Also how the hell do you beat the spider swarms in the cave? I thought you had to use aoe spells but burning hands seems to do nothing to them.

Sweet thanks man. Also how do you know who's turn is up? I have it pause at everyone's turn but I don't see a portrait light up for who's turn is up

Starting to think bow is a bad idea for Huntsmaster because of all the teamwork feats you get for free (and also Solo Tactics). Sure, they get shared with the companion, but it seems it would be much better if both of us were taking advantage of Outflank, Precise Strike, etc.

Game seems to have quite a lot of crippling bugs currently;

- if you go into your inventory and you double click on your main hand weapon, the weapon weight will be duped and ghost weight will be added to your character
-after talking to Valerie and concluding her personal quest (Ch. 2) you will start experiencing error code crashes coming into or leaving the capital.
- if you leave the
city while its invaded, after defeating the boss, but before talking to everyone on the map about it,
chapter 3 becomes impossible to finish

Longer list here; contains some spoilers.

I considered buying this game yesterday, but the number of game breaking bugs is too damn high.

Maybe in a few months when it's working I'll revisit it. Until then, back to Baldur's Gate as others have mentioned.

I register on the Owlcat forums, and try to respond to a thread about the negative reviews. Before I can post, I'm directed to the following page:

I really like this game and I'm playing it a lot .. but the bugs and some of the design choices are really horrible.

I haven't found a way to put more then 1 of an item in a belt slot, but since one can just pause the game during combat and equip items from inventory, which seems instant, what is the point in only allowing 1 potion per slot? Makes the gameplay tedious at times.

The way the main quest works is bad also. Seemingly unrelated quests have to be completed to progress the main quest. Since the main quest is on a timer, this can simply wreck your campaign.

Since fashionquest is the main quest, what is up with the diversity of character portraits? There are like 10 variations of "armored dude with sword", but there isn't one that even vaguely resembles a monk.

this is where i'm at, was actually just about to buy it and did a tiny bit more digging and seems like it's just in too rough of shape right now

they seem to be pushing out hotfixes so hopefully a week or so
