Just finished this game as a lich on core. Great game, better than Kingmaker imo. Crusade management was way less tedious than kingdom management with all the advisors bs and dice rolls for events. The highlight of wotr for me was act 3 when your build come together (minus the mythic power) and the encounters are challenging. Mythic powers are really cool but made the gameplay really volatile in act 5. As a lich you get absolute death toward the end of the game and you can basically one shot any boss if they fail a will save (and your DC is really high late game). The bosses can also wipe you pretty fast and your defensive buffs like protection from energy don't do much anymore. It feels like you either take no dmg or die right away. That wasn't as fun for me, in particular the last boss was just a complete mess.
But my main gripe about this game is the same as with kingmaker: having to stack 100 buffs to fight 10 filler encounters per map and like 3 challenging encounters. Some maps are big, and you have to buff 2-3times to clear the map. That's way too much buffing and way too much afking through encounters. I much prefer Divinity design with no filler encounters and less buffing.
