Report: The PS5 Pro Is In Development, Has A Release Window
The report says that first Sony will release a PS5 with a detachable disc drive later this year to cut down on current PS5 costs, and the PS5 Pro is actually a separate unit that may instead be out by late 2024. Further information suggests that Sony has no plans for a PS6 before 2028.

That's a pretty retarded take. PS5 exclusives being that short a list is a good thing, since it means the vast majority of games continue to be multi-plat (and thankfully, also available on the far superior competition). By late '24 consoles will be so far behind PC hardware again that Pro models will absolutely be needed. Personally I wish it was this year so I could finally trade in this fucking lemon of a console I got back on day 1.

I have barely touched my PS5 these days. Most everything is on Series X. Sony can go fuck themselves - maybe they can add Atmos and Vision to PS 5 Pro, clean up their complete shit store, and add something as simple as folders to the main bar like they had it with the PS4.
Dumb shits.
And their subscription model can fly off a cliff. I am firmly downgraded to PS PLus and may as well just cancel that since I never play the thing anymore.

I'm the exact opposite. Granted I don't have a Xbox, but there are more games on PS Plus Premium than I have time to play. Also, I think for me Essential tier is all I need since I don't really play the backlog, so when my subscription runs out I'm gonna downgrade to that level. The last few months they've released Mass Effect trilogy, the new Horizon Dawn, Borderlands 3, Nioh 2.....also most of the Ubisoft stuff so I've played Farcry 5 and Primal as well as AC Valhalla and Odyssey. Also the Yakuza series, I played the new one (Like a Dragon) as well as 0, 1, and 2. I don't buy many games so these were all new to me.
So for me at least it's been an incredible value. I play more on my P5 now than I ever have, and I've only bought 2 games ever for it....Demon's Souls and Elden Ring.

Maybe if Microsoft got some good first party games I would get one. Otherwise Sony will always be better for me.

I mean I hear ya 6-7 years ago but outside of God of War 2, it’s been pretty stale. Xbox doesn’t have much when it’s just the console but the total gamepass package is 100% worth it if you are a PC gamer.
Now I know a lot of the guys on console don’t have a 3000 series bad ass rig so I may be biased. Most of the “new” games they release are out day 1 on PC gamepass and free as opposed to $60 on Steam or PlayStation. It’s an unbelievably great deal. PC RTS may not be your thing though just like the Japanese RPGs outside of From Software aren’t mine.

I was wondering what happened to you. Unfortunately, I have a potato for a computer now. PS+ still has a lot of value for me since I have a large backlog.

Sony is so hellbent on woke-ing their own games to death that it's hard to care about them any more. Pretty much everything good is multi-platform and better on Series X, provided they don't fag it up like Hogwarts with locked content.
I've got a PC that can play just about anything maxed out still, but I can't even remember the last game I played on it. I installed Atomic Heart because the controls were so bad on console, but I don't think I ever actually cared enough about it to launch the game. Game Pass -- and, to be fair, PS+ Extra as well for people who didn't already play everything on it when the games were new -- is an unbeatable value no matter what.

Yeah I’m not talking atomic heart kinda games but I’d still take that game on my 240 hz 1440 monitor fully maxed anyday over console. I was thinking more like Age of Empires/ brand new Warhammer 3 total war games in general, etc.

Just wait. I played through it. It's a fun but goofy game, the story is all over the place, but I completed it. Unless you have nothing to play right now I suppose. Adding story content though or a rogue lite mode, lol. The side missions were sometimes better than the main story, and yeah have fun in rogue lite mode
