Woke this morning and my table and floors were covered in blood, like a real lot of blood even for a human who had an injury. My cat was bleeding from its mouth, rushed her straight to the vet. They don't know what's wrong with her at the moment and are keeping her in for some x-rays and scans.
It seems like it could be very serious if not fatal, I'm holding my breath she'll be ok, but she looked like she was dying.
She didn't seem like she was in much pain, they've sedated her at the vets. This is my 3rd cat, first one died of old age and the 2nd was run over aged 12. This cats young, she's only 7. Here's a pic from a couple of years ago.
Vet just phoned, she's got an inoperable cancer tumour in her stomach, they are putting her to sleep. There's been nothing untoward in her behaviour recently, she's eaten as she always has. I'm gonna head down there later this afternoon and be with her when they do the injection.
I have been pretty broken up over the last couple of days. My ex-wife and I bought a schnauzer in May of 2004 (she was born Feb. 2004). We named her after my grandmother. I never got another dog after the divorce, so even though Danita wasn’t always around, I still saw her enough and still kind of considered her my dog. My ex is taking her to be put to sleep tomorrow. She hasn’t been eating or drinking and doesn’t move around anymore. She has been fully deaf and almost blind for a year or two now. I can’t help but cry like a baby from time to time because of this. She was a pretty great dog and family member.
Shit, crown and paw even has a Sansa and an Arya template right now, which my cats are named after. Tempted to get them for my home office/cat room since that room needs some decorating. I think my husband would kill me, though.
