Thats unfortunate. I'd love a Days Gone theme as I am really enjoying the game currently. It would be cool if that theme had the Horde stream out and run off screen periodically. On my PS4, I had a TLOU theme with a burning car which was pretty nice.

I just finished the mission to catch up to Drunk Boozer walking home which was pretty funny. The game isn't really very hard overall (with the exception of planning for horde fights) but I do enjoy the story. After this, I'll finally start a playthrough of RDR2

Beat the game, I loved it! Sucks there are no plans for a sequel especially after discovering the cliffhanger secret ending.

I would think making a sequel would be hard for this. What made this game so special was seeing the transformation of two hardened bikers, the interactions with the ones around them, and finding Sarah.

I played this for about 10 minutes on Saturday night and that was the most gaming I've done in a month. Only observation I had was that the motorcycle handles like shit.

You can upgrade it so it's not as bad, but I still found myself running as often as possible.

Never finished it as it was pretty repetitive/boring and it didn't seem to change much 10 hours in.

Your right and it annoyed me when I started. However unlike RDR2 You can progress and skill up the bike for better movement.

Watched Cohh play the PC version some yesterday, looked great and super solid. Not gonna pay $50 to play it again but maybe down the road on sale cause it really did look fantastic.

The game starts off rough because of how weak you are and your bike is literally junk. But progressing and becoming more powerful is one of the game's charms for me. Also, in the first zone you really have no purpose yet and I think it is until the second zone you start figuring stuff out and the main quest starts opening up. Also, when it comes to fighting zombies (especially hordes) you do a lot of running.

riiiiiiiiiiise!

Sometimes it feels like this game was written by multiple people who were not communicating with each other because Deacon seems to flop around from vengeful hardass to bleeding heart pussy in different story arcs. There's one story mission where you track down a junkie who murdered the camp doc and ran off with all the narcotics from the infirmary. When you corner him he's high as a kite and starts whining about not wanting to be hung so Deacon mercy kills him by ODing him on whatever opiate he was shooting up with.

What the fuck? He murdered a doctor, quite possibly the only trained physician left alive anywhere in North America, and Deacon feels sorry for him? The same Deacon who settled things with the ripper cult by blowing up a dam and killing them all with a flood feels sorry for some piece of shit junkie who murdered a doctor for opiates?

I finished this game and I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would.

It's got some jank, but it was interesting enough.

I never thought I'd say this about a game but I think the biggest problem with the game is that it's TOO polished. Like this is by far the smoothest open world game I've ever played but there's almost nothing about the game that really stands out and grabs you. Maybe the first couple times you take on a horde but as soon as you realize that the only real difficulty to them is A) the shitty weapons you have in the first half of the game and B) the adrenaline/panic then they lose their scare factor pretty fast.

Funny didnt notice this on first page when i google searched it on FOH. 75% sale, not sure how regular that is. I'm fairly spending tapped out so even at $12 I might wait if any hope of return sales for similiar price. Usual big game backlog so when it's 1p shouldn't be any urgency.

I bought this on PS4 and it ran like dog shit. Bought it again in a steam sale and loved it a lot.

It's by far the smoothest open world game I've ever experienced on PC. If it had poor performance on PS4 on release I can see that being a big factor as to why it underperformed.

I wish the writing quality wasn't so inconsistent, although it mostly just falls off a cliff after Deacon travels south so I'm guessing the latter ~1/3rd of the story was rewritten fairly late in the project. They pretty much ruin the "final villain" of the game when during one of addresses to the rank and file he makes sure to let you know how inclusive he is because he welcomes any soldier into his camp be they man, woman, gay, or trans. He may be a genocidal religious zealot but at least he isn't a bigoted genocidal religious zealot. There was a brief suggestion that he was closeted and in an illicit relationship with the camp doctor but almost immediately afterwards that bit with the doc getting murdered by the junkie happens and it doesn't develop. My best guess is someone saw the story and was like 'the bad guy cant be a closeted gay, change it' and they were left scrambling to try make a rewrite work which is where the horribly written mission with tracking down the junkie came from.

The hordes are by far the best thing about the game and while some of the easier ones are available to be taken on pretty much from the very beginning, even small hordes are practically impossible that early with the shitty weapons you start with. You also can't craft any of the anti-horde tools until much later either which means the only way to take them on early is to look up guides online about where there are easily accessible static loot spawns. The main story doesn't force you to deal with hordes until the mission where you're testing out super molotovs and by the time you get map markers for the horde locations I'd say about 50-75% of the hordes should be completely trivialized by the weapons you've gotten through story progress. It's a shame too because they clearly put a tremendous amount of time and effort into the horde experience, especially the largest ones. You can't complete the story without dealing with the largest horde at the lumber mill and the arena for fighting it (if you dont cheese it) is incredible.

I echo pretty much everything everyone has said about this game.
My beef with the game is that it has the bones of an excellent game but there is little meat on those bones. Feels like a few things are introduced but never really expanded upon or developed passed their initial offerings. That's just me though and I felt the same way about 'Metal Gear V: The Phantom Pain'

yeah after they fumbled Days Gone and didn't have the balls to try and do things better for a sequel I can't imagine being interested in a live service shooter from them.

they just announced a DLC for this and the only way it could be more of a soulless cash grab is if it were motorcycle armor.

I had to look it up and it's not even what I would consider DLC. I guess I was thinking more of a story expansion. Hopefully it's a free drop for those who want it because I don't see a price attached to it.
