nice writeup grim, you missed an "Odin" for "Horus" or "Anubis" though in one of the notes on Kushinade

Was playing around to see if 1.5x tamdaras justified running regular metals. Did 18 runs total (1 stone), results were 12 kings, 6 highs, only 2 tamdara appearances. Fortunately both dropped. Not sure if it is worth it.

That's more xp per stam than a 4 high 1 super run. Plus a tama. Pretty great results.
and I've got 6 pengdra waiting for dragon seeds to be evolved.

Also that sounds fucking dirty as hell.

after 2 1/2 weeks of harrassing gungtroll, I recovered my work-phone account. I only remember my mono-blue team & Naga & Amaterasu Ohkami, so when I looked at the monster list I was surprised to see a Haku. Now time to blow some shit up. Not sure what to rock on it... have vamp, zerk, and Naga, but nothing else really fitting (Red ripper?)

Also, the recovery process is fucking shitty. They really want to know dungeons (sort of slacker response ok), at least 5 favorited monsters (required), and last playtime (super hardcore about this, took a week of back and forth banter with them to recover because I couldn't remember).

So keep track of your shit.

Should only ever be one red and one blue max. Vamp, zerk, naga, dub-myth/RK is what I would do.

Eh, Bastet doesn't get 4x until her Uvo, which is going to take a starting player a little while to get to. Kushinada gets progressively better, just like your skills will as a new player. It's extremely easy to pull off 3 combos and getsomethingfor your effort, which Kushinada offers. I think she's a pretty solid starter.
Except that even without her UVO you can EASILY hit 6.25x (assuming your friends are other unUVO'ed bastets), which is more than enough to get through Tier 5, which is the point you can start farming OOH, and/or weekday bonus dungeons, which is where you can level up your team easily enough to get UVO materials.

Well, Kushinada is still 4x for the same number of combos. Don't get me wrong, I wasn't stating that Kushinada is abetterstarter than Bastet, simply that she's a fairly solid starter who only gets progressively better as your skills improve.

I'm not saying that Kushi is bad, Her active is certainly MUCH better than Bastet's at working through starter content. Spread cats is useful in certain situations/descends (2 heroes/twinlets) but I can't think of a single dungeon prior to legendary difficulty where there are multiple hard mobs to plow through, best I can think of is the double carbuncles as the penultimate level of each of the tier 5 dungeons, but sometimes spread cats won't even be up by then unless you're purposefully trying to stall, or have skilled up bastet (which a newer player isn't going to have have had an opportunity to do, even if her collab was available here in the u.s.)

Kushinada has other downsides too. Like she doesn't have an ultimate yet and can't get a sub-element or -type. Bastet being a healer can make a pretty huge difference if you stack the team around that and bring a King Shynee. Bastet also gets to 4x with one less combo.

Anyway, I do agree with you that if someone rolled Kushinada right now they shouldn't even consider throwing her back. The carnival running at the moment has zero gods worth starting with so you're basically rolling with the worst possible chances. Actually, is it possible to roll on the sticker girl REM with your very first set of stones? Or do they force you to only roll on the normal REM. If you can't roll sticker girl on the first pull, then what I would do is keep ANY god pull and collect 5 more stones then pull on sticker girl REM and see what drops. Haku, Leilan, and Kirin have a lot better chance coming out of there than anything else from the normal REM does.

I just started this so I'm pretty confused. Does the list of good cards you can get from the tutorial change?

The odds of getting specific ones goes up and down based on whatever event is running. Right now there's no relevant event going on at all for the normal (gold dragon) REM. There is, however, a sticker girl (pink dragon) REM which has a 10% chance of giving a gold egg which will be a Chinese god. 3 out of those 5 are good starters. The other two are not good because they lack red in their teams and that has serious drawbacks when it's time to do descends and Echidna can't be used as a sub without gimping your damage.

Is Amaterasu a good one to start with? Pretty much no idea what I'm doing, I just don't want to gimp myself further down the road

Amaterasu is great, but I would not keep her as a starter. Her play style is epic-ally boring and bound to make you develop bad habits right out of the gate. Try to grab one of the 5 mentioned earlier in this thread, it is worth it down the road since subsequent rolls require a lot more investment (either money or time). If you get really impatient, there are some other options, obviously, but you will likely end up spending $$ for that impatience later.

I wouldn't start with Ameratsu...You can very quickly substitute a Siren for almost 70% of what she does...You are better off rerolling for an Aggressive style leader.

And Kushinade is amazing for starting...It allows you do all the starter dungeons and farm the crap out of the weekend dungeon for $ and xp. I'd say she is a definite keeper for a starting player.
