Nah, I was talking about not watching Blackhawk down, but I did watch 13 hours.
Ah, you just got Benghazi and Mogadishu mixed up. Then how did BP know you were talking about Black Hawk Down?

BP AND SANRITH ARE ALTS OMG!

Somalia and Libya are close, but not THAT close!

I am still so confused lol.

I was surprised at how engaged and moved I was by the Hacksaw Ridge movie, and I despise the lead's face.

Saving Private Ryan is a retarded premise surrounded by a very realistic depiction of war. Watching our boy Vin Diesel go down (SPOILERS) in the scene with the little girl is pretty sad. The Jew getting slowly stabbed by the german while begging to stop was pretty harsh. The guy manning the 30 cal getting shot in the neck and bleeding out. And, of course, the beach landing.

Edit - and to your other post, in Black Hawk Down, the guys volunteering to defend the injured pilot in the downed helicopter knowing it was a suicide mission gives me goose bumps just typing it. Knowing it really happened........

Reading the thread helps with the confusion.

Watching Black Hawk Down for first time in ages, partly to test some home cinema upgrades.

Anyway, the cast is ridiculous - so many pre fame actors that I had no idea were in it
including Tom Hardy and Jaime Lannister

Definitely a good surround sound movie that makes good use of the Atmos channels

That movie is so good, I put it up there with Scott's other top movies. Cast was indeed loaded.

I have actually never watched it. I was so angry when the shit happened that I haven't ever brought myself to watch it on the assumption I will get angry enough to throw something into my TV. I did make it through the Benghazi flick though without destroying my TV so I might eventually watch this.

I said I have never watched BHD but did watch the Benghazi flick (13 hours).

Saving Private Ryan is just really well done. I kind of just ignore the premise. Had the premise been "hey some General's/Politicians's son got mistakenly deployed to within 100 miles of actual Germans and we need your squad to run and save him so he doesn't get shot at" , it would have been much more believable.

Gary Gordon and Randy Shughart. They kept the surviving pilot Mike Durant alive long enough that someone who wanted to ransom him was able to get through the crowd, and he eventually ended up in Aidid's custody until Aidid released him.

After Gordon and Shughart were killed the mob of chimps stripped them naked and paraded their bodies around, I think they also paraded the body of a crew chief who didn't survive the crash. Gordon and Shughart were the first Medal of Honor recipients since the Vietnam War.

Yeah, that would explain much. I can now understand your confusion. My apologies.
NO U. I mean me too!

Yeah, I can't remember the details, but Ossoi one day posted one of the stupidest things I think I have ever read so I decided it was time. It wasn't even the degenerate shit. Just stupid.

No one of this board ever has to explain blocking Ossoi. If I didn't have a no-block policy he would be a 1st ballot hall of famer on my block list.

After seeing that recent picture of Fonda, it would be almost sad to watch it again. She could literally be the beast/animal villain in the movie now.
GOD DAMMIT.

I knew I shouldn't do it. I debated for a couple of minutes even.

Fuck me, she was so fucking hot back then. If you're curious, do yourself a favor, don't look. Just remember her as she was in Lake Placid and Jackie Brown, etc.

I’m going to pick it up off of audible. Is it pretty good?
Dallaire's editor and close friend committed suicide because the contents of the book were so depressing and soul-destroying. It's very powerful but I sure as hell wouldn't call it good.

Maybe start with 'An Ordinary Man' by Paul Rusesabagina if you want a close perspective on what happened without subjecting your soul to the more comprehensive account detailed in Dallaire's book. Quite frankly the idea of ever opening the book again sends shivers down my spine.
