Are you guys preordering the digital from the PSN store or a hard copy? I normally prefer discs but I gave my brother my old Ps4. As I understand it he will have access to any digital games I buy also right since I left him on my account?
The way it works is that you log into his account on your PS4, then activate it as your primary console. Then he logs into your account on his console and activates it as his, you will both get access to both libraries. Games he buys, you can use and vice versa.
To download their games, you just make sure they are offline then log into their account, go into their library and activate the download for anything they have that you want, then log off and go back to your account. Game will now be available to you.
Thing to note is that if you pre-order, since "your" account is on his console, the option where it will automatically pre-download 48 hours before (usual time, RDR2 is available now 7 days prior to launch probably due to size) will activate on his console, not yours. So you need to manually go into your library and activate the download if you buy it as a pre-order.
