On the grand scheme it was fairly simple, this isn't rocket surgery.
It wasn't just a couple clicks though. To get a baseline forum up and running sure. We keep customizing though.

What exactly were the issues with RR moderation? People who don't receive infractions just feel left out here. I only got a bunch of them in the The Internet is for Porn not Racism from Chaos (all of them a joke) more than three years ago.
Now that I write about it, I do seem to remember Chaos saying that he has to because Draegan said so. Basically answered my own question there.

Some moderation is a good thing. The original Zimmerman thread, when Araysar, Duppin and others started trying to top themselves in overt racism to counter all the supposed "racism" of the zimmerman supporters. That shit was real retarded.
Someone that uses a slur in a sentence, or in normal conversation, great. When you start going out of your way to use it constantly over and over and a thread gets turned into a contest between shitposters to see who can be more "edgy", fuck that.

I think moderation should be to keep the level of interaction at the same level as a reasonable normal person would want if there were bunch of friends sitting in your living room. You start screaming "American Inventor" and trying to make other people leave, and you may be told "go home for the night, you're drunk"

Most of the every day mods that actually did stuff, like Noodle and Soy, were fine.
But there was a lot of arbitrary moderation bullshit, like how everyone ignored the Gamergate thread for months and then when called on it, Tuco would be like "I don't care about that thread so it doesn't get moderated" or when a issue or concern came up about the way Draegan ran things, he'd just hide in the private moderator forum and mock the people complaining while he sent Tuco out to quiet the rebellion.
Stupid shit like that where Draegan fostered a spirit of basically condescendingly mocking or just straight out ignoring the concerns of the community.
It speaks volumes as to why he had not a single issue with just selling us out.
I just don't want to see that shit perpetuated here.
I probably over-reacted with the poll, but we should all really consider the opportunity we have here for a vastly improved community, and consider that I was merely trying to get the point across to Tarrant that shit needs to be different here.
I think he got the point and somewhere around page 4 or 5 of this thread he started getting serious about it.
