Its just 1 cuck band after another with you

Friend had a ticket. It was entertaining.

This broseph was the opener. I'm expecting a Lil Peep scenario in the near future.

That's how you fucking 80's sax right there!

Love that fucking 80s sax.

The dude I was gonna buy the tickets from bailed on me this morning, show was sold out a week ago, it was a line around the block.

So now I sit at home on Saturday night, posting memes and trying to unfuck this website Im working on.

Thanks again for the invite and for turning me on to them, that would have been a great show.

Swear to god first thing I thought on clicking that video was "this chick sounds just like the female vocals from Before The Dawn Heals Us." Is it actually the same vocalist or did they just find a good imitation?

M83 have always been one hit/one miss. Dawn was amazing, Saturdays sucked, Hurry Up was amazing, Junk was awful (although at least they had the decency to warn us in the title).

Saturdays = Youth was amazing. Half of that album is just nonstop hits: Kim & Jessie, Couleurs, We Own The Sky, Graveyard Girl, etc. I liked Dead Cities as well. Junk was the first major disappointment for me.

Personal taste I guess. I thought it was ok at the time, but none of the songs really stuck with me except maybe Kim & Jessie/We Own The Sky. On the flip side I've been relistening to Dawn fairly non-stop since I first heard it back in HS, and Hurry Up since it came out. Saturdays never slid into that "timeless" ctegory for me, while Don't Save Us From the Flames (or Teen Angst, or Car Chase Terror) still gives me chills down the spine.

But yeah let's agree on Junk. No idea what the fuck happened there.

Couleurs was pretty popular in the club scene.

Sasha released "Involver 2" in 2008 and Couleurs ended up being the centerpiece in the second half of the set and it was a pretty epic set to begin with. People were playing that track out non stop for the next 6 months.

I honestly don't remember that at all, but I'd mostly stopped hitting up trance gigs by then (think the last was Cosmic Gate in early 08). I was balls deep in the hard dance/hardcore end of the scene by the time Saturdays came out.

I just threw Couleurs on and it's not bad but also doesn't blow my mind, for sure I can see it being epic in the right part of a Sasha set, but I think that's more on Sasha.

yeah, by then he was as far away from trance as possible (he stopped playing those tracks some time in early 00s) - by 2008 he was just deep house, mininal techno, etc.

sorry to hear that you started listening to hard house

Haha. Those were the best gigs to hit up here if you wanted to go out, get messy and enjoy some tunes. Trance was basically done for at the time, and house/tech only had tiny, sporadic, beard stroking niche gigs. It was hard dance at the more underground places or all that terrible electro-pop stuff that being pumped out at the time in commercial venues. Easy choice.

Anyway this isn't very political - really enjoying The Midnight though, gonna nab their album off bandcamp.

No, just started sucking ass.

Aww I didn't know they started sucking. Hadn't been following them lately. Saw them live in Paris during probably the craziest night of my life (for other reasons). Really liked them. Used them in a bunch of my guild's kill videos.

Musicians get a pass. I realized a long time ago that most of the music I love was created by people I never want to meet in person. A great example is Rage Against the Machine. Fucking commies, but I love their music.
