Imagine how different Nintendo would have been today if they started with CD technology in the early 90's. N64 would have been capable of doing so much more.

We should order a DNA test as well. It's probably not even that guy's kids!

Phantasy Star(1) was on the Sega Master System, rather than the Genesis(I never played it either). The Genesis had Phantasy Star 2, 3, and 4. PS 2 and 3 were fairly expensive cartridges at the time, they were like $69.99 as opposed to most Genesis games that were $49.99.
You know, it amazes me how video game prices have stayed relatively the same throughout the decades. I distinctly remember Sega Genesis and TurboGraphx-16 games going for $49-$59 back in 1990. Nintendo 64 games were clocking in at upwards of $79 back in the mid-90s. I think I recall Atari 2600 games going for $30 or so back in the early 80s. Adjusting for inflation, here's what those are in today's money:

1980 $29.99 = $83.79
1990 $49.99 = 88.05
1996 $79.99 = 117.37

The Sega Genesis console was released in 1989 at $199, I believe. That would equate to $371 today. Even the Atari 2600, I believe, originally sold for something around that in 1977? That would be $760 today!

3DO - $1,115
NeoGeo - $1,144 (games $320 - $400 ea.)

I had no idea my parents loved me so much.

I had an NES, an N64, and a GameCube, prior to earning my own money.
