Logged into my 50 cleric and rogue for the first time in a loooooong time last night and all 5 of each of their specs were reset. I just can't be bothered to research this shit now. So I rolled a Mage to give Chloro and Harbinger a try.

They might of changed, but they gave crap rewards. They gave you tokens to buy stuff for your planar engines. Otherwise they were useless, though there were some uber rare mounts and stuff. But the problem was that you would do one invasion, go back to town, wait 15 minutes or so, then do another one. They implemented so that there was only one zone event going on at any given time. That shit should of been constant.

Anyway they should of rewarded better gear and they should of made events that dropped raid-level stuff too. They should of ignored most of the PVP and raid development and just focused on making raid systems better.

The raid rifts were very cool too and there was a lot of fun with PVP and them. They made them so much of a pain in the ass to just open because you had to farm a lot for them. Meh.
The raids each having an elemental theme gave you a lot of full engines/sigils to spend sourcestones on, but generally wasn't required to be able to progress through a raid. They also had raid level gear you could buy with inscribed sourcestones as well.

I do wonder if devs think about people who haven't played the game in months if not years. I did that raptr shit and could play rift on my old launch account, but I logged in, wandered around on my mount a few minutes, said "man.. fuck this shit I think I'll just go play skyrim" and haven't launched rift since.

I have no idea what they could do to make me feel comfy logging in, but it was just so overwhelming with changes and stuff I'd have to "do" before I could "play" - talents, UI, inventory, gear, etc - that it felt less like a game and more like starting a new job or something. And yeah, putting in some tutorial or whatever would be dumbing the game down and not a great solution but with so many entertainment choices for me, I'd rather just go do something else than play a game that I never found that interesting. I guess I could restart with a level 1, but I had 3 level 50s and I hated leveling in Rift.

Lol, aye. I just started a new toon. I have multiple 50's but had no clue how to play them, and my banks are full of stuff I have to research and figure out. But to be fair, the same thing happens in every mmo I go back to. EQ is the worst for that.

I've always thought that a better storage system was needed by mmos for exactly that reason. Every item should be sorted and described. All quest items should have their own storage banks, and mouse overs should explain what they are for. Crafting items also need separate storage and mouse overs should have a list of recipes (or at least a link) that the item can be used in.

The hap hazard storage problems of high level toons is a huge problem for returning players. Too much work to get back into the game. And mmo devs have not recognized the problem or even attempted to deal with it, which is very short sighted of them since it ultimately hurts their bottom line.

a welcome back to "GAME" tutorial is probably not a bad idea at all.
Obviously not EVERY patch. but maybe once a year, make a new tutorial, for new features added since release.

if you can macro it to 1 key.
why is it a separate skill at all? why isn't that 1 skill, that applies effect 1 first, then effect 2 second?

Best support class right now is? Going to play this again but want to do group only stuff as heals or even better a pure support role.

How are cleric tanks? I am debating that or a Mage of some sort. I heard that warriors are kinda meh. I recall clerics having some tanking issues back in the day though.

Justicar = tank right? I doubt I'd raid tank in this game. I guess that role is given over to warriors exclusively now?

Do they have decent melee dps?

They added in the option for the game to help you with talents. You can close that in the lower right hand corner of that screen and just start with a blank canvas. Took me a bit to realize that as well.

Thanks, but when I made a new cleric I got to pick roles but didn't tell me the soul names, support just said defensive cleric name was like seraph guardian or something like that.
Clerics were the top tanks when I quit during SL.

Raiding population though was very very watered down when the expac dropped, like the people I considered retards at release where the ones on top.

Yea for shits and giggles i watched a hardmode Regulous kill on twitch the other night. The encounter I think had 5 abilities and none were hard, was like watching a really old WoW end tier boss. Maybe its different when you are there but: kill eyes, kill spines, stack, move 10 feet to right and kill adds didnt seem very complex.

Anyways the guild executed it like shit, had 3 dead at one point and killed it. Maybe I am just too used to heroic Throne of Thunder in WoW

Looks like the eased up on raid encounters. Back when HK was the top, that shit was hard, and hard in a really poor design way.

Honestly, I really liked how hard HK used to be. Downing that fuck was a great feeling, especially since I was able to grab the 2-handed hammer for my cleric off of him.

Yeah, it sucked if you fucked up the last stage, but with a good guild, we just sacked up and downed his ass.

Dunno, just with the way the game telegraphs what is coming (oh u have a debuff that causes damage to those next to you heres a big red bubble to judge distance, or cleave will be here heres a big spot that has turned red, etc just seems like its simpler to me.
