What is there in Kiev?
(24.03.2022)
• The government of Ukraine has prepared for the evacuation from Kyiv. This is indicated by the decision of the Verkhovna Rada to support the introduction of amendments to two laws: "On the central authorities" and "On the legal regime of martial law."
In particular, if earlier the government could only be located in Kyiv, now the Cabinet of Ministers can move to any other city in Ukraine.
It is curious that this decision was made against the backdrop of loud statements from Zelensky's office about counter-offensives in the capital region and the encirclement of almost the entire group of Russian troops in the Irpen, Bucha and Gostomel regions.
The question arises: if everything is so good near Kiev, and in some areas the Russian troops are “thrown back” for 70 km, then why are you creating legal grounds for the evacuation of the government?!
• Russia starts paying 10,000 rubles each to state employees and pensioners living in territories controlled by the RF Armed Forces. Considering that 10,000 rubles is 3,000 hryvnias, and the minimum pension in Ukraine barely reaches 2,000 hryvnias, this is a very good help for unprotected categories of the population of the same Kiev region.
Outer contour:
• The NATO summit took place in Brussels. As a result, it was decided to deploy 40 thousand soldiers in Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary and Slovakia. At the same time, Poland's proposal to send a NATO contingent to Ukraine was rejected. However, this does not exclude Warsaw's initiative outside the alliance. The fate of Poland will finally become clear on March 25, when Joe Biden arrives to talk with Andrzej Duda.
• Biden, in the middle of Brussels, suggested that Ukraine itself resolve territorial issues with Moscow. He also allowed NATO to intervene in the conflict in Ukraine if chemical weapons are used there. We remember well what the United States means by the “use” of chemical weapons from stories from Syria.
• Macron advocated maintaining a dialogue with Moscow and is worried about the coming food crisis, because Russia and Ukraine are key suppliers of agricultural products to world markets. In addition, Macron does not insist on the withdrawal of French business from Russia.
• Johnson is about to look into Zelenskiy's request to transfer tanks and planes to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but does not know how to do this due to logistical difficulties. We suggest the route: first, the equipment must be delivered to Warsaw by aircraft, and then by rail to the base in Yavoriv, Lviv region. There is no better place to place British equipment.
• Scholz agreed that the sanctions against Russia have led to higher energy and food prices, but is going to increase the sanctions anyway. The German government does not pity its voters, it does not.
• From the funny: the situation in Ukraine can reconcile longtime opponents in the person of Macron and Erdogan, who have agreed on some kind of joint humanitarian operation in Mariupol. The details of this idea have not yet been disclosed, but its implementation is questionable due to the success of the allied forces in the battles against the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the national battalions.
Forecast: If Biden allows Poland to send troops to Ukraine, then Belarus will do the same, claiming part of Polissya and Volhynia. But whether the Poles dare to take such a step on their own and without the official support of NATO, we will find out in the near future.
