RIP Gene Wilder

You know you were the shit when Mel Brooks makes the circuit after you die to sing your praises.

So, some of these brand x cable channels on my direct tv is free this weekend. They played see no evil, hear no evil on MGM channel. I had never seen it before, put it it on my list, just never got around to it for 27 years. It was actually pretty funny. I was shocked to see such a young kevin spacey and the brunette was hot. Wilder always inserts a sadness aspect to all his roles. This movie was no exception, and now that he is gone it feels much sadder.

Gene Wilder always came across to me as... I dunno. He was just his own thing. In an industry of carbon copies and creative borrowing, that's something special. I also really respect how he went full on hermit after he felt like he'd done his bit and made his money. It makes me feel like he was actually an artist rather than just "an actor". He was -really- famous for a while... but life goes on.

RIP in peas, Mr. Wilder.
