Update: This thing is a fucking champ. If youre still on the fence about robo vacuums, try this one as its pretty affordable.

No regrets here.

3 years later my Eufy 11S robovac is still a champ. Nothing ever broke, I only changed the roller and those little sweeper arms once in 3 years. The only thing I've been changing regularly is the dust filters. Manages just fine with dog hair, cat hair, etc.

I'm ready to get a robot mopper though

Anyone got a good one to recommend for something that will work on wood and tile floors? My main floor is all hardwood except for kitchen. Dont think I need an all-in-one, I can put them on timers to run in turns. Mop at night, vacuum during the day. Its about 1300 square feet.

I see tons of options 3 years later. Trying not to spend more than $400

Some ridiculously expensive
Amazon product ASIN B0BVB5PTDK
Some ridiculously cheap
Amazon product ASIN B0C2872HLV
Samsung units that use a design different than the usual dinner plate design.
Amazon product ASIN B086NZHSBP
Also lots of Chinese offbrands (Laresar, KEEPOW, HONITURE). Do these all suck?

on amazon days, i got the shark av2610 self emptying for 400 that does mopping too-you have to switch the vacuum section for the mopping section-

built in lidar and mapping etc. i have used the mopping function -fill reservoir with water and the cleaner and tell it where to mop- you can designate rooms & areas in rooms as carpet and it will not go over those areas. works very well the pad was filthy after doing the kitchen floor.

the vacuum part is -imo- working better than the eufy 11 i have- i moved that upstairs.

Have an older eufy though it didnt see that much use that lost a power charger, wife bought a stupid too weak / not correct rating one that wouldn't charge it because she can't read anything then ordered a $12 one from Eufy. Shit still wont take a charge seemingly.

Forget brand, she has 2 slightly more expensive self emptying ones Yeedi? I bet they can do better but she doesn't put the time into fine tuning their path so constantly getting stuck/lost on dumb stuff like the transition to the fireplace, under a shelf/table legs etc etc.

This Braava M6 consistently showed up on every "Best Of" list and I checked like half a dozen different sites. Half the time, it was the #1 on the list so I went ahead and pulled the trigger. New one goes for $389 on Amazon but they had a used one for $200 in "very good" condition that I rolled the dice on and bought. I figure someone bought it, played with it for a couple of weeks, it got a couple dings or scratches like any vacuum/mop robot, and then they returned it

Is there a post on robotic lawnmowers? I just nabbed a mammotion Mini yuka.
Have you set it up or used it yet? I'm very tempted to get one. How much land do you have - it seems like that one doesn't cover a lot of ground?

In theory one of these would be great, but I am a bit concerned about the amount of random stuff that goes on in a yard. My understanding is most of these do zones and go through cycles, which would necessitate a bit more thought with something like weather. Then there's the amount of sticks/pinecones/leaves/etc. Then there's navigating terrain and hills. Then there's the theft part (which granted isn't a huge concern for me but I suppose it's still there). Plus I'd need one that can do closer to an acre. The only ones I've seen that look 'plausible' are commercial things in the 5 figure realm and that just isn't as practical when I've already got the sunk cost of a tractor.

If I ended up in suburbia with 1500 sq foot flat yard I'd be all over it. I just am somewhat skeptical of the 'lower end' style of these machines like you see at HD or Lowes right now.

Yeah, these are my concerns as well. I was looking at this slightly bigger one from the same company which seems to address most of them.

I thankfully don't have to worry about pinecones - all my trees are maple or oak, so, I figure I'd just have to walk the yard and pick up any sticks that came down once a week. Since this one can do an acre a day, I was even thinking I could maybe do a run with the deck at the maximum height and grind up any twigs.

My neighbors down the street on closer to a half acre have a Husqvarna automower and it seems to do a pretty decent job - although I have seen it wedge itself in their ditch a few times. I'm not going to fuck around with one that uses boundary wires though.

Yea see that one is what I consider to be in the lower end bracket of specs that seem like it can tackle a lawn that isn't perfectly leveled and all that. 4" deck height is close to the minimum for me translating from my normal which is 3.5". I also bag most of the year because of excessive thatch if I don't, which this wouldn't do. Plus I have so many leaves this would effectively stop being useful for two months.

I dunno if given the opportunity I'd demo something like this just to see how far off it is. I just remain skeptical of the value proposition. Right now it sounds like I'd have to keep two mowers and then would have to dethatch more often, remove all the pinecones and basically use the tractor in fall or get really aggressive with leaf removal.

how you much you want to spend?

theres the yardbro, it's basically a lawn mower tank, it has treads and has enough torque to pull a car in neutral, you put attachments to it like mower/leaf blower/snowblower/trimmer

lcn did a review, so in lawn care world, it's actually real

That one looks like the cheapest one that might do the job.

If you're willing to work with a vacuum only model, Araysar mentioned how much he loved his Eufy; I love mine, too. See if you can find a refurb 11S on Ebay or Amazon; if you can't, the 11S Max is still pretty good. The 11S is "dumb" and doesn't connect to Wi-Fi, so there are no security concerns; it's just a semi-random scatter model. But it's $99, and it does its job like a champ.

I defer to other people regarding the combo mop models, but Rtings likes the Roborock S8.

are you lazy? the self emptying ones can get pretty expensive
5379930748dcae0e721af1619b0bc967.png

i was able to snag one for 200, but i was on the lookout for it, 330 is already on sale tbh
Shark AV2310AE Matrix Self-Emptying Robot Vacuum with No Spots Missed on Carpets and Hard Floors, Precision Home Mapping, Perfect for Pet Hair, Bagless, 45-Day Capacity Base, Wi-Fi Black/Brass

i mean it's nice that i only have to empty it once every 2 months, theyre smart now so if i leave a cable on the floor it's not gonna roll it up
i have that on my second floor cuz i have carpet

my first floor is hardwood, so i did get a mop/combo, you basically just fill up the cartridge w/ mop water and it just wipes it around damply. it's not a deep clean, but if you do it once a day, it looks nice and is equal to 1 real mopping session, but here your just letting the robo do the mopping so you really can't complain, it's like those robo lawn mowers that only cut 0.5in and takes a while, but it's not like youre there doing it

i hope you were able to get it while it was on sale, it went back up to 450

it's a huge box, it's actually two boxes in a box oh i also forgot to mention that i got this for the easier to clean rollers, cuz my wife has hair down to her ass, these brushes aren't bad to clean.

first if youre lucky, the sweeping side brush can pick up the hair and wrap it around there, otherwise the rollers are easy to clean for hair, you just slide the brushes and the rubber off and the hair slides out along with it, just remember not to throw out the 2xbrushes, 2x rubber sweeps.

i haven't even emptied it yet and i bought it xmas time, it's just the 2 of us so thats probably why, also it's almost dedicated to the main br, if the door is open or not, and the next big sq/ft area on my 2nd floor is the den but it's on a half/floor? (i have 1 step to go down), so i actually have a robo just for the den too (basic one since it's only me and non carpet)

but yea i have it to clean everyday just for the dust, really.

Yup, got the sale price. Also got a new adjustable bed base. I got a loft bed kit I am trying to get put together. Cleaning the condo properly for the first time in a couple years reminded me I was thinking about getting one of those when I moved here.

You can find self empty ones for $120 occasionally on Woot, Shark brand. The base really helps if you have a lot of dirt, which my 2 dogs bring in every day.

I'm holding my breath for one that mops and self empties the water down the drain.

Still rocking my Eufy 11S a few times per week. Last year my cat pissed on top of it repeatedly (probably retaliation) and the piss got into every nook and crevice of the robot. I tried taking it apart and cleaning it out, but good luck with dried (and crystallized) cat piss. Accidentally broke some stuff while taking it apart, ordered same model again, kept old one for parts.

I solved the pissing problem by putting the docking station under the china cabinet which has a clearance of about 6 inches from the floor. Plenty of room for the bot, no room for the cat. Just a heads up if you have cats, I guess some really hate it.
