It'd be different if we were talking about a different subforum, maybe. I mean, say Sean decided that the book forum was his fiefdom. If he did his schtick in there, sure, it'd suck; but it'd be a relatively minor thing in the overall context of the site.
In this case, you're talking about a forum that encompasses all non-MMO games, on a forum that has historically been almost entirely gaming focused (although it's evolved some).
I don't particularly think it NEEDS a dedicated moderator. It certainly doesn't need one who has such strong biases on the subject and throws his weight around to shut down disagreement with said biases.
