Your router isn't on the internet(I hope). There might even be a sticker on it with the IP and default admin credentials. When you get shitty service, login to it and see what the router thinks of the connection. There will be downstream power and snr. The logs should explain why you don't have a connection.

If there is no sticker, google(when you have service) the model number. Given it's a popular service's router, I bet you'll be able to find how to log onto it.

Can’t even connect to the admin tool. It just times out. Tried resetting so many times and nothing helps. Gonna have to take this router back to Xfinity and hope a new one works.

If the admin tool is something you're clicking on the router's webpage and that's timing out, I guess that means shitty router?

Not uncommon for ISPs to underspec their hardware since most customers will not push the limits. You might consider buying your own modem and router for that reason.

yup, back in the day I used a Motorolla surfboard for that. I liked good internet for gaming so I always did my own. I worked for AT&T among other people, and the gateways, even the set top boxes were just utter trash sometimes. Terrible backplane, not enough processor for alot of connections, etc. Time warner used old shit without latest docsis when speeds started going up and was always a pain to get it upgraded out here.

Note, I assume they are still good but I get straight ethernet now, no more modem:

Just funny how their old router I used was awesome. Then they “upgraded” me to their current one for higher speeds, and now none of my devices will connect.

Are you hardwired into the router when trying to connect to admin page (http://192.168.1.1)? It could be a wifi setup issue.

You could possibly try to factory reset it, but you may need to then manually set up some various options to get it to connect back to their network. There should be info on what it would take to factory reset your particular router on Xfinity Reddit or some YouTube channel, if you search by the router make/model.

Disney pulled 4 channels from Verizon unless you are on the top tier TV plans or have it as a separate package. There apparently was some errors where even if you are on the Ultimate you have to call customer service and get someone from India to fix it for you.

Also their existing old STB boxes will be phased out Apr 2026.
