120 a month for 2 lines? Holy shit. Im on a family plan with 3 other ppl on T-Mobile and we get unlimited texts/minutes with like 4gb data, plus free streaming data on a ton of music services and its 100 total.

Is there then a compelling reason for me not to abandon Verizon and go to project fi? I've been eyeballing the pixel anyways.

Wife and I pay $120/month for 6Gb and two lines. On project fi it looks like we'd pay baseline $45/month plus whatever data charges. At the 6gb we'd be at 105 but with the freedom of not actually pre buying the 6gb we'd be way under. Factor in whatever phones we bought and it may come closer to the 120 but at a better service than dealing with Verizon.
Do you use the 6gb? If not, then just clock in at a lower rate and then Verizon has their rollover data now, that you could easily get away with it. Then again, I'd probably like just having the bill credit if I didn't actually use it like you do on Fi.

and Lol, I'm 5 lines on Verizon and pay $240 a month after taxes and sur charges? Just changed tonight to their new plans that's 16gb of data per month. Will probably drop that back down to 8gb after this month since the rollover minutes, but that'll only save me $20/month.

Were on a 5 person family plan with her parents that for some reason comes out to 120 a month for us. It's like 334 for everyone or something wacky. It's an old plan and I don't control it so we're thinking of just getting off the plan and trying something new.

The project fi option looks pretty good. I suppose if I check the coverage map and its OK it might be my best choice.

Sprint seems to be the cheapest option but they don't have good coverage in wv. Can't imagine they don't have ma covered though

Well I had an issue with sprint where someone opened an account in my name. Even though I took care of it sprint still sees me as an asshole or whatever. My wife could get the account but after dealing with sprint I'm just not interested. Verizon has burned us a million times so I'm just sort of seeing what else is out there. I already support Google everywhere else, might as well be fully integrated.

I really wish I could get my wife and daughter to switch away from their God damn iPhones so I could move us all to Fi.

Switched from the old XL plan to the new one that includes carryover data, and 16gb instead of 12gb of data each month. This then triggered a new offer where every smartphone on the account can get 2gb per month of personal data every month for life.

Now I gotta get everyone signed up for that, and then switch the plan back to 8gb shared per month.

Glad Verizon just let's you switch that shit any time you want.

We told the family we were peacing out from the family plan and now they want to join us. Can't win with these fools.

I don't even want to think about the drama that would start if the wife and I tried to do the same thing. Ugh.

I can't decide between the pixel XL or the S7 edge. Figure the specs that matter to me for both are edge screen and SD slot, versus better camera and faster processor.

Has anyone heard how much better Google assistant is going to be on the pixel where its baked into the phone versus just downloading the app?

I can't speak for the pixel, but the biggest selling point for me with the S7 Edge is the battery life. I haven't owned a phone that was remotely as good as keeping a charge. I can often go a full true day to a day and a half (two if im hardly active) on a single charge. I know Kegkilla kept whining in the thread about his S7 battery performance, only to later figure out his service provider loaded some bullshit app on his phone draining 60% of his battery life. So yea, the only one I have seen complain about the phone in this thread was due to service provider pre-loaded bloatware. Everyone else has had glowing reviews of it.

Opposite for me. I just use a tiny silicone case to protect the exterior. When my wife worked at usps it was a deal breaker though.

I have used the 6p since launch and it is the best phone I've ever had. The only reason I considered the Pixel XL at all was for a spec refresh, but with the price they've announced I'm taking a hard pass. 6p 4lyfe.

Pretty much same here. I can't justify the >$700 tag

I got my wife a $650 trade in allowance on her iphone6 to get a 7. I went ahead and got her a 128GB so it cost us $100. There are deals to be had!

I am floored at the decision to make super expensive high end smartphones instead of very reasonably priced mid/high end phones that fantastically show off the latest build of Android.

Google has really disappointed me across the board this year.

My guess is that they couldn't find an OEM to play ball at those margins. The nexus line does not command that much market share.
