Stock Android needs an app like Lightwave to control the LED. At least that is what it was like when I used an N4.

Lollipop is nice and all, but some of the changes are just stupid.

Stock lockscreen controls are stupid. Why not just keep the unlock circle and put the camera and the phone on the left and right? Or better yet, make it fucking customizable. I'm not on iOS for a reason, give me some control.

Also, it is goddamn ridiculous that you can't hide the sensitive information on lockscreen notifications if you aren't using a security unlock. It would have been far easier to just make that option available for all settings, not just all but the fucking default.

I'll never understand why Google insists on removing real functionality from their OS and making it more like iOS.

Getting frustrated here. Now I am unable to send picture text messages with any reliability. It appears to send on my phone, but the person receiving the text never sees the picture. There has been 2 or 3 out of 20 or so that have actually gone through, and I can't figure out what it is. I tried using a 3rd party app to send them, the built in messenger, and Hangouts, and none of them will send pictures. I tried searching around a bit for it and haven't seen much on this particular issue.

Dont know if it is related but when I got my Blu the first month people never got pictures I sent and my network connection was always shit and some other issues. They all magically vanished after the first month and I still don't know why.
I just remember trying to send pictures via text to like 10 people for work related stuff and one day it started working and I hadn't changed anything.

That sounds like the MMS settings in your APN are incorrect. Might want to verify with your carrier what they are supposed to be.

APN settings are how your phone communicates with your carrier's specific network. If you bought a phone on contract you should have these pre-configured. If you bought a phone unlocked, it will not have these automatically, but newer Android phones should be able to automatically find them during initial setup.

Finally got around to rooting my Note 3 (first and only Android device). Installed Supersu and Adblock so far. It feels like my new su powers are going to go to waste though. What are some other apps I might want to try out now that I couldn't before?

Excuse my ignorance, but what are the APN settings?
Settings>More>Cellular Networks>Access Point Names

Check what settings the phone is using and look up what your carrier uses. There may be multiple entries on the phone for your carrier or you can create a new entry with your carrier's settings. I would recommend that over editing an existing setting. It's pretty simple and as long as you create new entries instead of editing existing ones there is zero risk. Just make sure to reboot the phone when you select a new APN so it can take effect.
