Been trying to find out how long the game is, as I have been worried that it might only be a few hours long.

In the video above he mentions "the game is like the second best thing to a 50 hour long episode".

That sounds just wonderful.

15+hours would be fine with me, 30+ would be awesome. 50 I don't know, could be shitty player time kind of thing but if there's really 50hours, this game is gonna be really amazing, especially for an adaptation(which tend to always be shit, including south park ones).

The video said 120 hours for full completion, though I don't know if that guy knows what he is talking about or not

Absolutely no chance, unless we're talking something like 100% achievement completion requires multiple playthroughs.

I think I am a fanboy for this game, because I am blatantly ignoring some fairly large warning bells. A game that has a very long development cycle, multiple canceled release dates, changed studios and teams, a game about a TV-show, and the review embargo doesn't end until release day (IGN for instance said they will release their review on 12.01 am Tuesday).

Still in my head, I am thinking "nope, going to be great!"

Unfortunately my game keeps freezing on a certain scene, but what I was able to play was great. Game is hilarious and the combat is very similar to Super Mario RPG.

Just wait until you open a house door and realize you barged in on a guy fucking a horse. That was a surprise.

Not getting the embargo since there's videos of people playing the game. Oh well.

Well, PewDiePie had to stop his playthrough only an hour into it. Scared of spoilers? Not sure.

In reality, based on history, I would say they are hiding something like a short or unfinished game at the end. Where youtube playthroughs of the opening parts are great for them, because that part is finished. However, they don't want people to read a concluded opinion of the game in a review until the date the pre-orders go through because they know the finished product doesn't live up to the hype.

But, it can't be that, because the game will be great!

From what I saw on twitch I nearly impulse bought it. Still very close to the edge. If only the GMG 20% off voucher had worked on this title...

The direct2play site mentioned a few pages back still has it at $38. I wouldn't have bought it at $60, but $38 sure.

Seems to be a general consensus from people who have played the leaked versions that the game is around 10-15 hours, depending on how many side missions you do.

Apparently some guy on twitch did most of the game including sidequests (normal) in 13 hours.

It is understandable. Watched someone else stream it last night, and the way the quests are set up and the speed it takes to complete most of them, there would have to be a thousand or more sidequests for the time to start reaching 50+ hours.

Progression seems fairly fast, and combat usually never goes beyond 2 rounds unless it is a boss. PP restores at every fight, so the person I watched play usually just used the best pp abilities in every fight, oneshotting one mob at a time.

Watched the stream for an hour. Mostly he did sidequests. Many of them were quite funny, and nearly every one containing small eastereggs from South Park. He did some main quest things in the end, and it escalated something that appeared to be a fairly small problem in a way only South Park can.

Saw nothing that made me want to wait on buying it, but it is the rpg quest hub king it seems. You have one town and tons of quests. That is it. Each quest being little more than a way to show a 2-3 minute segment of a South Park character to you. Great for fans who want to experience more South Park, but as a "game" it seems fairly simplistic.

A few posts ago there was a link to an interview with Stone, and he explains that they know how to do 22 minutes. They know what 2-3 minute segments need to have to be funny. This seems to be the way they have designed the game as well. One story with tons of little 2-3 minute segments/side quests. But with that format, and the speed of combat, it is completely unrealistic to build a 50+ hour game even with introducing most of the characters that has ever been on south park.

PS: Boooo to them releasing it on Friday here not tomorrow. Dumb choice. So many people pirate things because of different release dates. Gamers are not the most patient people, would think publishers know this by now.
