Hey, it's not impossible, my uncle got shot down by a farmer with a crossbow that took out a fuel line on his huey. /Vaclavwow I went in with very low expectations and Spectre still managed to disappoint. really glad i didn't waste money in a theater on this trash. I never thought a plot could get stupider than "Bond saves Bolivians from evil water corporation" but spectre managed to turn a classic Bond villain into a complete idiot while having zero story. What a completely and utterly forgettable movie.
A handgun takes down a helicopter? After a weird torture scene that "removes all sense of balance and your memory" Bond goes on a 1 handed killing spree and blows up Spectre's main base with a few pot shots? Even Call of Duty campaigns were better written.
At this point they may as well go all Avengers, summon 5 other mega stars and make a Bond with 001-007 (003 is missing!) and give them superpowers, why the fuck not.
I'm going to have to go watch some classics like Man with the Golden Gun and Goldfinger to erase this pile of shit from my mind. At least the opening scene was really good in Spectre, I guess.
Just watched this, wasn't a fan. I agree it had a lot of Bond elements, but what it felt like to me was that they made a checklist of Bond things and just went down the list writing a scene for each item on the checklist without bothering to fill the rest of the movie with enough plot to tie it all together. I mean, it's not like Bond movies are supposed to be incredibly deep or anything, but at least in Goldfinger the villains had some sort of decent development throughout the movie.Spectre, however, embraces all these clich?s and is a Bond movie of the 60's, except it was made for 2015. It had everything that the oldest Bond movies had and have had for decades, everything that has been parodied in Austin Powers and so many other spy movies, every trope in the book.
Bond bangs women he just met five minutes ago, despite the context being terrible for it : check
Luxury cars for EVERYONE : check
Muscle-bound mute-type mini-boss dude : check
Impractical locations for strange constructions : check
Villain's outlandish lair : check
Villain's overly slow torture device holding Bond captive : check

My sentiments exactly haha.lol best spy thriller ever.
Said this way back, movie is awful not even worth a rewatch on cable. Not sure where they go from here. After watching The Winter Soldier(best spy thriller ever), this movie pales in caparison. I agree with everyone that it's just a typical bond movie, nothing new.
Casino Royale was definitely the best from this franchise reboot.
I think the problem with QoS was that it was half finished. I think there was mention of it supposedly being a two part movie (for profit?), but not sure if the second half was canceled or if it had something to do with the writers strike. They get to the "plot" of the movie when there is 10-15 minutes left.CR was all round pretty great. QoS was boring as shit and I have no idea what it was about. Javier Bardem was awesome in Skyfall, rest of the movie was shitty. Spectre was back to QoS levels of "I don't know what's going on because it's so boring, is it over yet?".
If Daniel Craig is somehow under the illusion that Bond was holding his career back he is sorely mistaken.
