Cody on his third straight mania main event of night 2, and was on night 1 as well last year.

Punk is main eventing night 1

AEW is rolling out shitty Cope vs Mosley death matches in front of 2000 people

I cannot believe how badly Tony khan fumbled his company by letting those two stars walk away because he sides with Indy marks with zero draw.

The entire problem with AEW is they don't know how to ride mega over wrestlers when they get white hot. The stupid death riders thing has been going on for an eternity and it's mega boring. I think they are holding out for Darby Allen to come back from doing his Mount Everest climb, but they need to get the belt off Moxley sooner than that. Hopefully Swerve gets the belt back as he's mega over right now. Darby Allen can fuck off.

In all honestly, the belt should be on Kenny, but AEW does stupid AEW things.

Even though it's probably staged on some level, that's a pretty hilarious interaction. I wish WWE would bring Jericho back. He's such an awesome heel and totally wasted on the dogshit that AEW has been pumping out.

Rhea Ripley can fuckin' GET IT though. There's something about that goofy lookin' bitch that really does it for me.

So Cody vs Cena will not main event Wrestlemania. Triple H just BURIED the WWE championship.

If anything, they buried Jey Uso and the redundant other world title. Why the fuck do they even have two world titles? WCW had two world titles in 1992/1993/1994 and abandoned it to merge the titles when Hogan came in, so Hogan could win a unified title and be The Guy. Was such a bummer when they un-merged the titles yet again (merging them in 2014 and 2022 was a good call) by introducing this new belt that nobody knows from Adam.

Also, Cody beat Gunther in a title vs title match. If anything, Gunther's title is the modern 80's IC title equivalent. Regardless, Jey Uso is getting dicked over really bad and is an afterthought, despite having the most over entrance in the company.

My jimmies are also rustled by Cena being upstaged by The Rock in this whole thing. If he starts a faction, who's the leader? Him or The Rock?

Punk continuing to be rewarded after the shit he did in AEW is kind maddening. Why does his match need main event status? I guess it was part of his contract and it's a way to get his WM main event out of the way without it involving any world titles (given what happened the last two times he won world titles, I doubt they're in amy hurry to put a title on him). Hopefully the Punk match is only "main eventing" Night 1. Which I don't consider a main event but the company does.

Only way I'll think this makes sense is if Cena wins the title on Night 1 and then proceeds to trash the show on Night 2, "invading" with his new NWO (Rock and whoever else). After Jey Uso wins the other title, Jimmy turns on him and takes him out before joining Cena's group. In the main event they help Seth win and he joins too. End result is Jey, Punk, Roman, and Cody all aligned against the new NWO. They can do a title unification with Cena deciding he wants #18 from Jey, they can do Roman vs Rock, they can do Jey vs Jimmy, they can do Cody/Punk vs Seth and whoever else is involved.

Well, just some ideas. Who would you put in a new NWO with small elite membership?

I cannot believe how badly Tony khan fumbled his company by letting those two stars walk away because he sides with Indy marks with zero draw.

Unfortunately, Punk forced their hand by being a complete jackass behind the scenes, terminally angry and terminally "big-leaguing" everyone.

Cody leaving on the other hand was mostly due to Cody not wanting to turn heel and wanting a significant pay raise to match the new salary scale after Punk and Bryan came in with much higher incomes.

TK is indeed a moron for not giving Cody a pay raise. The fans are morons for booing Cody out of the building and making him want to head out.

Losing those two basically killed AEW, that much is for certain. And incidentally raised WWE's level significantly.

AEW still has Kenny (who they need to use as an Undertaker-like attraction instead of just another regular guy) and MJF (who seems to care less and less) to hang their hat on, but aren't using either of them particularly well. At this point it is what it is, most AEW employees and fans know they're just gonna be a distant 2nd for a long time.

* They also have Will Ospreay who is a legitimate superstar, young, and reliable, and should probably be made the face of the company. They're clearly waiting until August 2026 (next Wembley show) to put the title on him though.

The end of Cody's run in AEW was terrible. The Codyverse was so so bad. The reason why Cody works in the WWE is because they will keep him in check and save him from himself. That neck tattoo tells you all you need to know about his creative decision making. He needs to be lead along and not be allowed to book himself.

More and more info keeps coming out regarding Punk in AEW, and his side of the story has been proven right time and time again. The high school like atmosphere in AEW is very real.

When she showed her abs to him and he broke, I laughed pretty good. It reminded me of old school Jericho and honestly, has been the closest we've seen him to that in a while. Jericho thrives best when working off the cuff and stuff like this is fun.

On the whole though, I don't get how TK's dad doesn't pull the plug on this clearly failing project. The products bad, the wrestlers are bad, the production is bad and sales are bad. I was never a big fan of Dean Ambros, but somehow Mox is worse. So much worse. I have no ambition to see death matches at all and all or anything crazy along those lines.

AEW has got so bad, even Bret Hart is talking bad about its roster these days, which he's avoided mostly due to them holding Owens tourny.

The only things in AEW worth watching now are MJF (and even he's getting stale honestly) and Toni Storm. I could listen to her rant in her transatlantic accent all damn day.
