100x this. I'm sick of the fucking autistic HOTAS flight sim assholes trying to ruin the fun factor of the game for everyone else. BDSSE = best damnspacesim ever - notflightsim.I'm far more concerned with the 300 dollar joystick people's very successful campaign of ruining mouse controls for entry level users. That will absolutely crush adoption of this game.
well... they have made many spaceships, and continually release more in to the arena commander ecosystem. And the system causing problems is not a chair system it's a phsyics system that just happens to be represented by chairs in this particular video. I can understand how that might be confusing to someone who enjoys watching hermaphroditic pink and blue foxes fuck each other in the ass though. That video kinda sums up the hilarious stupidity of this entire project to me. Are they really wasting hours and massive amounts of time trying to figure out a chair in a space game? Is this fucking chairs in space. Why the fuck are they bothering to make complex collision meshes and shit like that for fucking chairs of the insides of ships? Am I going to fly the fucking chair. Am I going to be dogfighting chairs? Even if I were, would their collision meshes with my character even fucking matter to the space part of the game? What exactly is the overhead in the programs resources for fucking making chairs online instead of spaceships online.
Why the fuck can't they make spaceships? Is this too much to fucking ask in a space game. How do most space games fuck this simple concept up??
The question I'm asking is why is this relevant in a space game. Why are they designing a game where you walk around your spaceship to the point where the insides need even more physics simulation than the outside. Do they have any concept at all of how incredibly silly this is from a fun perspective?
The biggest difference between me and you is I know what I enjoy is retarded and a waste of money. You simply haven't embraced it fully if you're a fan of this game, because I see a massive dumpster fire burning. And the system causing problems is not a chair system it's a phsyics system that just happens to be represented by chairs in this particular video.
Because multi-crew is one of the hugest things they are doing. I don't get it either. I know why they are doing it but I just don't think it's going to work and be as awesome as they think it will. The question I'm asking is why is this relevant in a space game. You apparently don't understand the planned scope of this game. It's not a "space" game as you refer to it. You seem to think there's no reason to need to move around the inside of your spaceship. This would be true if they were just making a dogfighting game; they already have that - it's called Arena Commander. The end goal is to have a persistent universe in which large ship combat is a thing, where you'll need multiple crew members in one ship that can move around to different stations. They also want you to be able to board enemy ships and capture them through FPS style combat. They'll need physics collision in the game for those sorts of scenarios. Not to mention planetside and space stations. This game is about a lot more than flying around your single seater. If that was all it was, you're right, they'd not need separate physics zones for interior and exterior of ships, etc.The question I'm asking is why is this relevant in a space game. Why are they designing a game where you walk around your spaceship to the point where the insides need even more physics simulation than the outside. Sure it SOUNDS cool on paper, but you have to make games first, then piss away your money on useless shit later. I have a really strong feeling that this game has decided to do things in the reverse order of that in every single piece I see from them.

I don't think this game's for you, bud. Sounds like you want to play Eve. Good news, you can!Oh yea, you're completely right. Thats my best memories of eve, when I walked around in my cabin and changed out my different boots to find the best looking one. Or remember the part in X:rebirth where they blew your mind cause you actually walked into your space ship and sat down instead of just popping into the cabin. That one was incredible. Or the parts where you had to get up and walk through the miles of space station corridors to contact some asshole to make a trade. It was so much more immersive then just looking at a menu and picking the trade goods you want, with maybe a little video link pop up.
Fuck convenience in games. In the future you need to move around and work like a hobo to get anything done. thats FUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN.
You're demanding that a game not be what it's backers want it to be, which makes no sense, so as far as what you are bearing witness to, are you stupid or are you brainwashed? Is this stupidity or brainwashing I am bearing witness to?
I honestly don't understand.
I would rather have a functional game where you teleport into chairs rather than beautifully scripted chair-sitting animations in a hanger. You're demanding that a game not be what it's backers want it to be, which makes no sense, so as far as what you are bearing witness to, are you stupid or are you brainwashed?
You're perfectly right. Who the fuck wants a space game backing this shit? What sort of fucking moron would expect a space game here. Lol at those idiots. You're demanding that a game not be what it's backers want it to be, which makes no sense, so as far as what you are bearing witness to, are you stupid or are you brainwashed?
I would rather have more of the same in an industry crippled by sameyness.I would rather have a functional game where you teleport into chairs rather than beautifully scripted chair-sitting animations in a hanger.
