For some reason I thought 2017 episodes were season 4 instead of 3.5. There's already been discussion of a Season 5 episode being written.

edit: and speculation that they'll go 7 seasons with a movie but that sounds like wishful fan thinking.

Well S3 is currently 2 years removed from the events of R1 and ANH. I can see them taking it right up to those so five seasons would be about right. And yeah seven seasons seems absurd, especially with a new series in the early stages of development.

They usually take a mid season hiatus right after a 2-parter but this time they took it right before supposedly because of some potential spoilery stuff in those episodes related to the R1 backstory.

Not really about Rebels but tangentially related since it involves two of the series' voice actors. It's a Star Wars trivia match between Sam Witwer/Freddie Prinze Jr. and a couple of Collider's resident Star Wars nerds. The video is set to skip past all of the pre-match posing and pageantry.



Witwer isn't human. His performance would have gotten a "most impressive" from Vader himself.

I started a new tradition this year of watching the Star Wars Christmas Special. It was fucking glorious. I was drunk and fell asleep about halfway through. I guess I will find out what happened next year.

Freddie Prinze Jr. revealed some upcoming Rebels nuggets in his Twitch stream on Christmas Eve. He talks about Star Wars off and on and someone asked in the channel why would Vader think Ahsoka was dead since we know as viewers that she lived. He said we would get an answer to that in the show from a certain character's perspective. He wasn't any more specific than that but his answer made it seem like it was something way off in the distance.

He also mentioned Saw Gerrera appearing on the show. He's in 2 episodes, I'm guessing the 2-parter on Geonosis. And Kanan training Sabine in lightsaber combat now that she has the Darksaber (he said the episode with that is in his opinion the best one in the history of the show, including the S2 finale).

The Old Ben voice was Stephen Stanton. The same guy who does Tarkin for the show and was Admiral Raddus in Rogue One.

He really did nail it in that preview.
