I'm not sure I want another glimpse into the mind of Mcintosh but what is this misreading? The Emperor tempts Luke and unlike his father Luke does not fall. When the Emperor goes to kill Luke his father sacrifices himself to save the life of his son and in doing so redeems himself. Evil is thwarted and then thwarted again.
Yea episode VIII might be worse than prequels.
The Emperor is a Progressive Socialist who wants to bring order and peace to the galaxy by banning all hate speech and giving everyone universal basic midicholorians, Darth Vader is a Nazi who intends to kill all undocumented slave robots (ALLEGORY) and Luke sides with him and wants to restore only old white men to power. In TLJ Luke realizes that white Jedi's are the problem and he must burnThe Bible The ConstitutionThe Sacred Texts and let a womyn run things.
Also Vader tells Luke that if he does not join him then his sister will, which robs Leia of her own agenda and turns her into a prop for a cisgender heterodox father/nontrans-"son" relationship, which is the ultimate hate speech of toxic masculinity.
When Luke rejects socialism then Vader does what capitalists always do, attack the peaceful socialist's safe space and throw them down a main reactor shaft.
Now let me tell you the story of Darth Plageuis The Wise, its not a story many capitalists would tell you...
What was there to possibly misread?now Rian Johnson is bellying up to the well of knowledge that is Jonathan McIntosh.

His string of tweets say that it is better to not fight the big bad, even if it is just, because it makes you evil. And that by not fighting he'd finished his training. The entire thing is pretty insulting if you're a fan of Luke, but if it was some random space hobo Rey went to for training I doubt anyone would care. At least the Luke parts of the film were coherent. Unlike the waste of an hour that was Rose and Finn, the incoherent mess that was anything involving Poe, or the complete wasted opportunity that was Rey and KyloI'm not sure I want another glimpse into the mind of Mcintosh but what is this misreading? That Luke is a tough and strong hero, who shows pity on Vader after he'd beaten him down with his toxic masculinity. What was there to possibly misread?
I disagree, the Luke parts are stupid and worst of all, humiliating. Luke drinking alien tit milk? Luke killing his nephew? Wtf kind of shit is that? His string of tweets say that it is better to not fight the big bad, even if it is just, because it makes you evil. And that by not fighting he'd finished his training. Dont trigger me about gravity bombs in space on a platform so slow theres no reason they couldnt be out manuevered. Like ship just had to strafe up and tumble them by running into them.#poedidnothingwrong
He used the most retarded vertical drop bombers in the only somewhat practical situation they could be used in and they would have simply been blown up along with the rest of the fleet in less than a day. Did he get an apology? Hell no.
I dont understand how Disney couldn't see this movie would be a disaster from a PR and fan standpoint.
They turned over capital, but how did the Disney brass become so out of touch with their audience and fan base? The entire Luke situation was so poorly handled, it literally ruined the entire movie if not the franchise itself.
except ESB had a buildup to a massive showdown in ROJ, it made you look forward to the movie. there is no buildup here. kylo is not a formidable enemy, he's just a brat. there is no rebels and they have no commanders. As far as the good guys accomplishing nothing, I feel like that part is just mostly trying to mimic Empire strikes back. If it wasn't already hamfisted enough with last one = new hope. This one with the fucking desert trenches ala Hoth battle scene etc. Granted again with the ultimate plot failure, the lets just hyperspace at things to destroy a fucking super starship seemingly as big as a state practically........ they did plenty of wrecking of imperial assets.
