Nani is still one of the most clutch foreigners. I think literally anyone can win it right now, if they turn it on.

Meh it's just Naniwa's shtick. Can't take it too seriously. Personally I find GG MULEs pretty BM. Paraphrasing ThorZain if you offensive GG to someone you'd have pitchforks sharpened on reddit but if you manner MULE everyone finds it hilarious -- even though it's the same fucking thing.

I always thought it was pathetic how angry people got over gg "ethics". They're two letters you force yourself to type to make the opponent feel even better about the win.

r/starcraft always goes full retard during MLGs...

I always make it point to make my ggs look as passive-aggressive as possible

Because these people are professionals and shouldn't act like children.

If leagues or teams really wanted professionalism from players, they would go full Kespa on this and players would learn very quickly. I think they are more concerned in getting their 15 minutes of fame on reddit/twitter though

I don't disagree. Some of the most well known players are people who haven't accomplished much of anything but are known for their personality. It is what teams want at the moment. But it isn't a growable or sustainable model. If you want the sport taken seriously you can't constantly have people acting like immature children up on stage.

Well, although I prefer professionalism myself, I'm not sure it is needed exactly. We've seen **many** other sports that are hugely successful but the talent still act like idiots regularly. Hell, it might even be helpful to building an interest.

Sad to see Hyun totally collapse in Game 5...pretty much was gg when the Hellion/Reaper play vaporized 25+ Drones early.

Also, the personality based SC2 scene, especially in NA, is nothing new. I guess those of us here are the exception, but by and large the fanbase does not want to see Koreans with little outward personality (the language barrier makes it worse) play each other even if it is the highest skill tier competition out there. They want to watch Idra call people faggots on his stream by the thousands. I don't think a purely talent based scene could make any money.

agree, I prefer the commentary/player interactions/reactions in fighting game tournaments way more than any ESPORT event

These players can do whatever they want until they are getting legitimate contracts where they can have a career that earns them enough to live (not just fuck their life over after 25). It's dumb to call them professionals when the majority are not earning enough to even move out.

Ahah that flash vs innovation match, so much hype for that...
Reminds me of most Flash vs Jaedong matches in BW, there would be a lot of banned people if there was as much bitching as when JD got bunker rushed out of OSL...

WCS NA is like a month behind the other two. It's weird. The fact Select qualified after like 7 weeks playing and no white people could is discouraging.

I'll be interested to see how future tournaments play out after the "slight nerf to TvT" patch. I was concerned it would ripple to other matchups. Granted in the DH ro16 I can't see any Terran loses that I probably wouldn't have predicted but somewhat disheartening to see only one Terran in ro8.
