The top middle appears its lower than greyish floor its next to and there is no ramp so you'd have to fly something there, is that correct?

Other than that, would not be on ladder pool. It would heavily favor terran. The third on the low ground and minerals right next to a cliff would make it too easy to siege that position and people would complain they could not take a third. Inversely, if you switched the 3rd from low ground to high ground it would make for a nice improvement imo.

Those 2 tiny ramps into the middle should be moved north instead of the rocks, or maybe do cloud kingdom ramp with half of it blocked by rocks. 12 o clock expo could be changed into 2, so you have alternate third ? The top XNW should be removed, it make your main essentially undroppable, at least that's what it looks like from the overview.

The third needs some playtesting, I don't think it's too imba anyway, since doing contain on his third leaves you vulnerable in other places

yeah, it's an "island" base, but also cliff walking units can path between it. Also, most range units can't hit the minerals on the 3rd, but they can deny the gas geysers. Tanks could be strong against the 3rd but as Zaphid said it does kind of leave them in the middle of the map and allows plenty of counter attacks / flanking if you choose.

But if you crossed the middle along the top of the map you could seige up denying the third and pressure the 2nd at the same time. For the opponent to counter they would have to go all the way down through their third to cross the middle of the map, then back up on the opponent's side of the map. That is a rediculously long map distance. Also if the person sieging holds the watch tower first then he'll see a counter and if threatened enough could pull their army back to their base via the top part of the map long before the counter ever gets there.

I dislike how all the maps are now pretty much the same. No islands anymore, no buildable cliffs, all of that gone.

Yeah tempest could get stupid on that lol. I think I'm going to go through the maps and make some custom games, see if I get any nibbles on island maps and funky stuff for a change of pace.

So, am I the only one rather underwhelmed by WCS 2013 ? It seems like Blizzard is trying to force their way into the scene (ala Riot) that had no real need for it, save for supporting local scenes, which made last year awesome and ISN'T repeated this year. Also we could very well see ESF koreans run away into the world in a hunt for prize money and have every continental final be 16 Koreans ... The biggest losers are TL and EG imo, do you sabotage your chances in proleague or in Blizzard WCS ?

Yeah.. sort of like it, sort of don't.
Its harder to see important things like supply/minerals/gas etc, but theres more visible terrain..

I enjoyed Bomber's #YOLO scv strats lol

Looks like Bomber style TvP is to power off 2base and wait for Toss to take a 3rd. Once they take a third just SCV train.
