Sick drop combo by Maru! It looks like a dropship with 2x hellbats and 2-4 hellions is actually better than a 4x hellbat drop for killing workers (maybe 3 Hellbats 2 Hellions would be the optimal drop composition.) The Hellbats are good at getting a few shots off to really soften up the drones then the hellions run them down for the kill. That was sick. Shame I never mech so I hardly ever have hellbats TvZ.

Also really liked Innovation dropping with 6 marines 1 Mine instead of 8 Marines.

I wonder if the game could be balanced a bit better if workers were given a different armor type than "light." Hellbats are given the role of bieng powerful anti-light and they're great at it. I don't think people think they're necessarily overpowered on the actual battlefield but they are just too good at decimating mineral lines.

Yeah, but they really need to have medivac hovering above them to work, If pros still lose them in a month or 2, then we can talk

Yeah we'll see. But right now TvT is very much hellbat drop wars. My comment wasn't exactly about the Hellbat but more about how it seems like most units with great +light eventually get the nerf hammer because they can clear out mineral lines too well. Like how Blue Flame upgrade is pretty worthless these days (or at least rushing it) because it got nerfed so badly in WoL because of clearing mineral lines. Feels like giving a "worker" armor type would give them more freedom to balance. Although with how smart the Blizz guys are I'm 99% certain they've thought of that.

They dislike creating special rules and avoid making them whenever possible to not complicate the game further and vs light is only problem when you have a way to deliver those units into the mineral line 6 minutes into the game. Easiest way to unfuck it is still to delay the time when afterburners become available.

They could just give workers no armor type at all, there are a few other units that don't have one, so it's not a special rule.

Taeja vs Brown from today's proleague, pretty good TvP.

Things to look for: Brown placing his tech in the least vulnerable spot on WW, Taeja's control in the first maxed engagement, Taeja defending his expos, Brown's tech progression.

Brown basically cornered himself, because he never had the army to take small scale engagements or the bank to remake it. His single big push was pretty much all in, since he couldn't remax instantly afterwards and he didn't have enough stalkers/storm to keep the vikings at bay, so they did jack shit. The hellbats were a nice touch that made chargelots feel like zerglings, but it would work without them. If you are taking engagament like that, you need to make sure you can keep going even if it's essentially a wash. Three robos, 15+ WGs, fresh expo and a few HTs in your base just chilling and getting energy is when you can afford to do that. Then if you kill the vikings, you can immediately keep going with 3 new colossi or a bunch of chargelot/archon if it goes the other way. DT shrine is also pretty useful, Taeja didn't have turrets at his expos and they can hold the terran at bay in the meantime.

Once again, NA produces more drama than actual Stacraft.
http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/view...opic_id=408859
1) Refusing to allow any community broadcasters to show any of the other games meaning matches such as NrGquasAr knocking JD down to the losers bracket will be reserved for their cast by replays broadcasts. Along with all the games for qualfiication from the Winners Bracket.

2) Allowing in hackers and low tier NA players instead of top players from China, including people such as the WCS China champion despite confirming to the players they will be in.http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/view...opic_id=408776

3) Taking 5 hours to disqualify Quantic HyuN as he is ineligible due to his participation in WCS KR Code S this season but only doing so after he has knocked out 4 people.

4) Banning people from channels who asked why the Chinese players were not entered in to the bracket.

http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/view...entpage=34#673

5) Not updating the bracket on their site, leaving it to liquipedia to pick up the slack.

http://gamebattles.majorleaguegaming...lifyin/bracket

Worth noting that while the ESL bracket was also a PITA compared to say, Challonge or Binary Beast it didn't force people to name themselves twice (Rootcaliber = Tubbythefat etc), was updated and had collapsible sections as opposed to having later stages off screen.

It's also worth notinghttp://gamebattles.majorleaguegaming...-of-the-swarm/doesn't even exist

6) The decision to cap the bracket size at 512.

MLG has always been terrible at these off-the-cuff things. The only reason their productions are good for their events is they have months to prepare. NASL, imo, was much better set up to run the online portion of WCS.

Best online tournaments are from Teamliquid, seriously. TSL qualifiers still rank as some of the most enjoyable tournaments, they let community cast until ro16 and then they let the players play their games in peace instead of stuffing 20 casters into the game. I can't remember a single one that had major issues. They also require TL account and since most major hackers are too dumb to never post on TL, they can get caught in advance.

Like how the fuck do you let a code S player play 5 matches before discovering him and DQing him ?

I'm not 100% sure on the HyuN drama as well. Right when I turned on the WCS AM they showed HyuN losing but it could have been their coverage started after the brackets already started.

Hyun was eliminated from Code S (WCS KR) and was playing in the WCS NA qualifiers, something the rules forbid and it took MLG admins several rounds to DQ him and he knocked a few people down to losers bracket already.http://gamebattles.majorleaguegaming...erty/team/HyuN

Given the general shortage of spots in the qualifiers, placing a player that is forbidden to play in there is pretty stupid.

Alive, Revival, Heart, Apocalypse, TheStC, Alicia, Oz, Crank made it, they DQ'ed Comm (WCS China champion) just before his last match for "smurfing", even though he was registered and just didn't get in, so friend gave him his spot.

Gratz to 8 NA players !
