It's definitely Innovations GSL to lose. I'm also just glad it's not another ZvZ in the finals, haven't he past 2 or 3 GSL finals been ZvZs? Something like that.

Should be a pretty solid finals overall though, hopefully it's a close series and not some blowout.

I'm watching the WCS B stream because I wanted to see Bunny vs MMA but dear lord these casters are terrible

Shoutcraft post-mortem from TB, it's kinda sad that they have to bend over backwards to schedule around WCS, like running the finals on freaking Tuesday afternoon. I think they would easily get 10k more viewers if there weren't so many technical problems, even if the level of the play was questionable at some points, like Suppy going full Idra and I hope they continue it at some point, but IIRC WCS/LANs are squatting over most of the weekends for the next 2-months.

Replied in the reddit thread with my thoughts:

The reasons I didn't watch very much are pretty simple (listed in order of highest reason to lowest why I didn't watch):
* Massive technical issues leading to erratic game times and absurd downtime.
* The product I was watching, skill wise, was below par at very best
* Lack of Terran (I'm aware out of his control)
Reasons I did watch:
* Intrigued to see just how the viewing experience of watching NA vs NA would be when I mostly watch KR vs KR (it was much worse)
* Trying to support NA scene
* Quality casting

------

Honestly anyone that watched the games and thought they were just as entertaining as watching Korean vs Korean is just fooling themselves. It was a massive discrepency in talent. It was like watching GSL Code Z.

I really liked that they let the players do some shit talk before the games and that is an angle they should highlight. TB is also genius at using the community - all the WCS AM backlash, having Idra as cocaster after he gets fired from EG, Frodan and Rotti with NASL being dead. The thing is, without big names at least casting, this kind of tournament is dead in the water and it seems like he has better things to do than to wrestle with WCS schedule, Blizzard and his own ISP.

I look at it like the TLS - If I want to watch the best koreans play BW live, there are places for that, but it fits a good niche and gives me some background noise, Sayle is also one of the last decent BW casters.

The shit talking was pretty good and sometimes awkward. Overall a win, yes, since there isn't the language barrier you face with Koreans.

I didn't watch Shoutcraft at all. I kept opening up the TL Tournament thread wondering who the hell 1/2 the players were. I did tune into the WCS NA with HerO, Revival, Suppy & Scarlett though.

Shit, I can't even think of the guy who won Shoutcraft NA, Kane? Kang? I know he was on Root (I think that's right lol) but I can't for the life of me think of his name, nor do I really care to look it up.

Well, it was basically a tournament for unknowns to get noticed, they made the rules to qualify rather easy (top 16 GM) and most of "NA pros" like Incontrol, Idra, Nony, Catz, Machine,... failed to qualify. Kane certainly got his name out there, also got featured on TL. EU has numerous small cups and monthly finals with addition to random stuff happening, so anyone can start playing in small tournaments without getting run over by koreans.

Kane has been legit good for a while. He was strong at the end of WoL and if you watch Demu/Polt's stream he is constantly playing, and winning, against them.

Glad Dimaga won, he's still one of my favorite EU Players. MVP takes it in 3, ezpz. I hope Lucifron takes it, then stephano. As long as protoss gets losing hopefully we get some buffs soon, right?

aaaand fucking koreans, I guess it's up to Stephano or Babyknight now, because there's no fucking way Dimaga beats MVP after what I just saw in the quarterfinals

TLO just got raped, though I wonder whether just making roaches would, you know, help.

Stephano's new style makes me want to quit following Starcraft again. That's fucking worse than infestor/broodlord.

I don't think Babyknight played it correctly, air toss should beat because you will never have enough fungals. The problem is what happens once you clear the first army, flipping a coin whether there are 30 mutas or 30 hydras coming is fun.

MVP's hold vs DIMAGA in game 2 there was ridiculous. Zerg maxed with 9k bank and i have no bank and no max army? npnp

I love how you have bio/mine vs ling/bling/muta, the zerg somehow cleans up a push, then you look at the supplies, realize the zerg is 40 supply behind and the casters make it sound even. Yeah, right.
