Couldn't find a thread for it. I dunno about you guys, but I'm excited for this game.
While that's true, the hope is it was a cash grab to fund SoD2.
Haha, if you read the blog about the end of Moonrise it sounds like a pure cashgrab into the fee-to-pay market that didn't meet the internal projections. They are batting 1 for 2 in terms of games; however, they are still 1 for 1 when it comes to paid releases. I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt since SoD 2 isn't F2P.
Hard to know the truth without more information. It could be that they wanted a break from open world zombie development and went all in on creating a pokemon RPG or whatever, but the solid developers that worked on SoD1 and made it successful left for better opportunities. (or whatever reason would create a shit game after a great one).Nope. It funded Moonrise.
Which, if you haven't heard, also got pulled from steam, and everyone who bought it got fucked over.
Undead Labs so far created a pretty good game (SoD), then pulled that game from Steam and stopped supporting it, released a reskin of that same game and charged people again for it, created a new game (Moonrise), and after people bought that game, they decided to shut that down and pull it off steam as well, without refunds, while it was still in early access.
SoD2 is going to be fucking garbage. There's absolutely no way it won't be. The company is morally bankrupt and functionally inept.
I dunno. I think SoD was a break-out hit despite the limitations that MicroSoft put them under. This time, XBOne is really hurting for some new titles, and they're looking to SoD 2 to become that really big hit.
