Ugh, terrible news about Redemption.

They should have only put people on the show with boyfriends/girlfriends. The hilarity of the breakups during/after the show, would've been a sight to behold.

There is a big difference between "root against" and "unwatchable". I think Colton makes a pretty good TV villain that you can hate. He is rotten to the core. I'd rather have him around stirring shit up, than half the people they cast, who do not even play the game.

Yeah, I hate Colton, but I'm more compelled to watch in hopes that he gets owned. Redemption Island just sucks cock(not literally like Colton).

There have been a lot of villains and unlikeable players on the show that have added a lot of entertainment value: Russell is the most obvious - undoubtedly slimy, but also knew how to use that to his advantage. Johnny Fairplay? He never really took the game terribly seriously, so what he concocted to shake things up could be amusing. Randy? I still have no idea how someone who is constantly in such a foul mood gets hired to work at weddings, but his confessionals could be fun to see since he never held back.

The point is, Colton really isn't really in the same category. Colton wasn't a villain because he played the game ruthlessly or because he was a backstabber. He was just a whiny little brat that got petulant whenever things didn't go his way. His grand strategy amounted to lucking into a position of power and then using that to bully the weaker players with occasionally racist and otherwise bigoted remarks. He wasn't a villain that you love to hate since he had no redeemable features. He had no strategy, didn't really play the game, and was just all-around a horrible human being. He might be a good villain in the traditional sense of the word, but he wasn't a good Survivor villain.

Though, most of what we see in the show is heavily edited and chosen specifically to give certain perceptions and create drama, so I'm willing to accept he might not be as bad this time around. And, if he is, hopefully his comeuppance will be swift and hilarious.

I feel like Redemption could work if done properly. Last time it was too comfy. I feel like they should literally stick the exiles on a deserted island with nothing but their minds and then put Colton with a Black person and let the hilarity ensue. I'd love for nothing more than to watch Gervase tear that faggot a new one.

Cantatus, what you said is also very true about Brandon Hantz. And it's clear the people casting the show don't know the difference between a "villain" and an "asshole." They thought people liked to hate Brandon because he was a good villain, but it's really people just hated him because he's psycho. Same thing with Colton. It'll end up being awful.

I just glanced at her twitter feed and noticed this:

@DaltonRoss thanks for the update and putting the truth out there. Wish I got to say goodbye to everyone/my alliance and tell them myself.
Are they actually forming alliances before the game even starts?

From what I've read, many Survivor alums meet after the show is over and hang out on occasion. Based on that, it'd make sense that the ones that form friendships outside of the show have pre-built alliances going into the season. I think we saw some of that on Heroes vs. Villains when certain players were immediately on the outs for no apparent reason.

Sucks that they replaced RC with Candice, who should have never been brought back a 2nd time, let alone a third.

I am in the same boat, not really excited for this season. Redemption island and returning players make me less interested. I do like the family member concept so i will be watching, just not sure what to expect.

i know that CBS organizes a party or 2 when a show ends, like big brother, almost all the cast members attend, and other big brother alums. Also they have previous amazing race and survivors attend as well, this is how they all get to know each other and cross shows (i.e. from big brother, he's in amazing race) blah blah. And a lot of other venues like big named youtube channels or podcasts will get these guys together for "afterparties". Basically it's a big CBS family.

No more RC. More importantly no more RC's tits and ass.

Damn, she was really hot and had some great Ponderosa videos. A strategist that got shut down far too soon.

I think she was the only person I ever e-stalked. We actually had a few Facebook message conversations back in the Phillipines season. I asked her a few Survivor questions and discoussed other things. She was a really nice down to earth girl.

Pretty sure Rupert won a 1 mil dollar favorite reward at one point.

*edit* yep:
"After All-Stars ended a special aired called Survivor: America's Tribal Council, in which viewers were given the opportunity in a contest called "America Votes", to select one of the eighteen contestants to win one million dollars. The finalists were Boneham, Colby Donaldson, Tom Buchanan, and Rob Mariano.Boneham won the million dollars, receiving 85% of the 38 million votes cast.He spent his prize money on his family's debts, a college fund for his daughter, a new house for his family, and the creation of his charity, Rupert's Kids, which mentors troubled children"
Can't knock a guy who has been helping kids since day 1 of Survivor.

Stupid episode. That ex-nfl guy is a dumber than a bucket of shit and the main source of lulz so far from what looks to be a painful season ahead. No one sticks out so far as really likable to root for.
