Thanks for posting this. Will definitely be taking in some of the lackluster PS4 games I bought on release like Knack and NFSR. Wish I could just take in my massive box of PS2 and Gamecube games as well, but I suspect most employees would just give me the three games rule instead of being bothered with ringing them through the system. At the very least I should be able to make a return visit and get rid of some of them.

PS2 games aren't even accepted - they've GOT to be on the website. (i.e. Final Fantasy XIII for PS3 they won't take, because it's not listed even though it's a PS3 title)
It's gotta stick to their limited buylist on the website.

I gotta admit it felt pretty awesome turning in three games we weren't playing and walking out with $30 of groceries and $60 left over for the future. Sure it's not much (although more than I can rebuy each for should I choose to tomorrow I'd be $20 ahead or so), but I'm sure I'd get $30 store credit tops for the batch at Gamestop, and would be limited to only being able to use it on Gamestop stuff.

I'm slightly confused. I traded in PS4 games so it was no big deal, but I had my GF attempt to trade in some gamecube games, and even though shit like Eternal Darkness shows 6.79 on their website it didn't show up at all in the in-store system. It would've been nice to get $20.00 for that worthless game and two others.
Is there a separate site or something I'm missing for games that this promotion applies to?

the only thing is the trade in POS system at target is pretty shitty, it doesn't do full wildcard matching so for example if the person typed darkness it would NOT find the game, it has to match by first few letters. I had to "help" my person find super mario 2 for nds, she was searching mario and it wouldn't come up - had to change to super mario
the prices are fluctuating two or three times a day as well so you good to check before you go in

Yeah it looked pretty shitty. Maybe i'll try again tomorrow. I had the girl scan the UPC codes because she was keying shit in super slow, but it didn't show up. I wonder if there is any sort of local database tie in which would explain the fluctuations in game prices? Seems unlikely to me, but it's the only explanation I can come up with.
I had to help my Target guy a bit as well. He kept looking for GTA5 under the PS4 section and couldn't find it. I kept telling him that it wasn't on PS4 and was only on PS3. He said he had seen it on PS4 before so it should be there. /groan. Finally he stated well I don't see it so I guess we aren't accepting it. I pointed at the GTA5 cover and said PS3, can you check under the PS3 section once for me....it was the first match.

But there are some ps2 games listed on the website...And when I looked the other day they were accepting ffxiii on ps3, they were looking for ffxiii and lightning returns, not ffxiii-2 because that game is shit, suck it sean.

Also, if you have a copy of the localized version of Xenoblade for the Wii, DO NOT TRADE IT IN. Copies are hard to find and you could easily sell a copy for $100 in a year or so.

Yeah, I'd definitely hang onto Eternal Darkness even if they did find it in their computer system because it is already worth more than that and the price will only increase for that game.
They also have Baldaur's Gate 2: Dark Alliance for ps2 on there and only offering $5, pretty sure that game already goes for over $100 on e-bay as its popular by name because the first one was good, but the second one kinda flopped so there aren't that many copies out there.
