I've seen Wesley needle guys so it's fun to see it happen to him.

Shit Tom Dwan just won a 3.1 million pot. That hand was nuts with the call and fucking Wesley showing big balls with the bluff.

Not sure what Wes was thinking. Dwan was reading him like a book last night. He was the wrong guy to throw into a big pot with.

The hand is at about 6 hours 10 minutes in.

They finally put a clip up, but it's a fucking spoiler in the title.

Such a dumb title. I watched it live, and you couldn't see Tom's cards. Not sure how Wesley went all in other than the Internet needling him on being a NIT.

On top of it he has Ace, King(not suited), and is still betting high on a river that hasn't given him anything.

I wish I understood why poker players have to constantly fiddle fuck with their chips. So goddamn annoying.

Same reason chess players are always fiddling with the pieces that have come off the board. Its a sign of high brain activity

Have you ever tried to just sit still for hours on end? Lots of downtime sitting at the poker table. I suck at it but I shuffle my chips a lot. Better than looking at your phone and not paying attention to what's going on at the table.

You don't have to shuffle your fucking chips to keep busy. There's plenty to think about and occupy yourself with if you force yourself to be attentive about every little detail pertaining to betting patterns and positions.

I don't mind chip shuffling, I just try not to do it because I've gotten more than a few reads from people that shuffle when they check their hands and I don't want to expose the same type of thing to table, however rare it may be. I just want as few behaviors on display as possible because a true read/tell isn't some kind of smoking gun....it's just a deviation from an observable habit that no one knows the significance of until they've seen it a few times from the same person. I want to minimize those in myself.

OR use it to your advantage every once in awhile when you are pretending to be bluffing, but actually have the nuts.

Yea I get it....if you're the type of person with flawless control over your body language and mannerisms. But I can do the same thing with the way I play anyways. I only play tournaments, and usually deep stack tournaments. I play tight and conservative usually, heavily based on position. After about 20-30 minutes, people start noticing when I stay in a hand or bet into one. I tend to get more table respect that way, so I often can get a pot without having to show my cards.

I just have better luck when I'm predictable like that, and I think that I stay predictable by having conscious control over as much of my play and appearance as possible. It's still easy to sneak my way to the turn or river with the nuts, and it's very easy to make occasional bluffs with that image. At least at tables with decent card players. The same strategy is pretty safe with a table full of dipshits (or gamblin' Asians) too.

Again, I don't really have an issue with people shuffling chips at the table. The sound is like white noise to me and I just pay attention to people's behavior changing when they check their cards or see a bet. I just don't like doing it myself unless I'm at a home game playing for $20.

Just noticed this thread. Ya going all in on the river was so dumb. If he all ins the turn he had a chance. Worst case is he gets called on the turn all in and atleast has outs and they might run it 2 or 3x but instead shoves when he is very likely to be called and leaves himself with no escape. Unbelievably bad play.
