When I was younger, I was being reckless like that and Cops would just hit their lights on and off to try to "warn" me to slow down. They wouldnt chase and they wouldnt "radio ahead." Ive heard something about it being more dangerous to pursue that behavior than to stop it? But I dont know if thats true. Never mind the pacing of the white lines, the mirrors, and the light refraction.

Some years ago, was talking with a LEO in one of the small burbs on Galveston Bay, off of highway 45, and he told me the same thing. He said they had a repeat offender on a crotch rocket, that would often run up and down 45, through their jurisdiction at 140+. They were advised not to chase bikes, as, while there is a danger to others, they are mostly just a danger to themselves, and a chase with police, in cars, was deemed too high a risk.

He also called those type of bikers, future organ donors, and said he had seen enough examples of those types of wrecks, to know how it ends.

Guy used to speed through the subdivision on his bike all the time. One day, there was a cop car parked on the side of my neighbor's house. Guy whistled past at 50 over. Got nabbed for reckless driving = trip to jail. Never did see him again. All his cars and house got repo'd.
