Did you know you can use ice to remove oil from what you're cooking?

yea i cook a tomato potato oxtail soup and it gets really oily

i used to use an oil seperator

(oil floats on top and all your broth is on the bottom)

but it was annoying going from one container to another, so i learned the ice trick, you don't need a big ice cube, 1 tray or 2 is fine, just dump in a tray and then spoon it out real fast. the ice won't "dilute" your soup b/c that layer of fat/oil/grease is enveloping it, then just toss the ice cubes in the trash. (not down the drain obviously or you'll get clogs)
