I watched a show where they made this image, or one very similar. They actually used a body of some guy who'd donated his body to science (some homeless guy who signed a form for a few hundred bucks to spend on drink or drugs). Froze him solid and then machined / shaved a millimeter off it for each image. Interesting and fucking gross at the same time.

Seeing the image, you might think CAT scan. But no it's a series of full color images.
